LOL he just collapsed

Very dangerous doing heavy squats on Smith machine for that exact reason. If you are using free weights you can throw that shit off you. Not with that machine. Plus he didn't have the safety bars set.
naw see...this is the reason why a smith machine is SAFER than free weights.

with the locks set you can go down only so far. adding a seat behind you will help you to get proper form.

this dumbass had no spotter, no safety parameters in place...hell he wanted to go to snap city.

If you have right squat rack you have the safety bars automatically. Plus in his case he bent forward. Free weights would have allowed him to throw the bar forward which on a proper squat rack would have caught the bar. If it was the case he was about crumble straight down he can throw the weights backwards. A Smith machine even with safety bars set will still jam you straight down.

only if its broken or improperly set.

Smith Press Machine Casework
The sports and recreation experts at Robson Forensic have recently seen an upswing in case inquiries involving the Smith Press Machine. In our experience, as both forensic experts and as fitness industry professionals, injuries involving these machines typically fall into one of the following categories:

  1. Improper use of the machine (user error)
  2. Improper maintenance or supervision of machine (facility operations error)
http://www.robsonforensic.com/articles/smith-press-machine-expert

the entire point of the smith machine is to stop the weight from going too far down.

squatting with free weights and no spotter is about as suicidal as it gets.

you cannot always drop the weight backwards.

if you get dizzy or pass out under the weight (and you know that shit happens) you have no clue which direction you\ll fall with all that weight on you.

Yes you should always a spotter. I trained kids in high school as head football coach for 10 year
My guys was putting up a lot of weight and only had one injury in the weight room. Google any real lifter and they will repeat what I stared previously.

Snap, crackle, pop ... back's crispy!

Maybe we are looking at the same video from different angles. I have used both and the both serve there purposes. I have squated on the smith machine and used the safety bars. I just know if you trying to go parallel even with the safe bars set and can't get the weight up you are stuck jammed down which can cause injury. At least with free weights even without a spotter if you can at least throw the weight backwards off of you.

He needs to stop all that whining

Like a lil bitch and get back on that rack

Add another hundred pounds too

No time to be a lil pussy

No muthafuckin pain

No muthafuckin gain....
