but then again thats what acting is about. the greats can disappear into a character.

a classic recent example is heath ledger and the joker. tons of people wrote him off even before seeing a script or a scene. and then they had to eat their words.

To be honest, I was overly impressed by Hedger's performance. He had a few moments in the film where I was like - OK, that's pretty slick - but I didn't get that psychotic fear / looney from his version of joker.

It's like his version of the Joker didn't take Joy and Glee in his work, which is what the Joker always does. Clever and funny.

Oddly enough I thought his portrayal was layered. He wasnt a typical psychotic(bat shit crazy). He had warped morals, a twisted view on the human psyche and I did feel as if he had fun watching batman react to his schemes.

The only thing I think is silly about this is if you're going to do a new Conan film, you don't need it to be like the old Arnie films. Supposedly this dude won the producers over by acting like Arnold... Also, they are supposedly following the story/origin from the old movies...

If you're going to do new Conan movies, why not go in a new direction...why not take some inspiration from the source material?
