Yo, that's crazy. Hippos are straight up plant eaters (aka herbivores). Not sure why they resorted to this shit but them niggas definitely had the runs afterward. Try being a vegetarian for 20 years and then fuck around and eat a steak from Applebee's one Friday night. Them fat muthafuckas prolly cleared out that whole section of the pond after this.

Imho, the Lions are even more brolic, clearly out numbered, but nonchalantly still eating away like no threat is around. It took a few hard bites on the ass to finally give in. And even then, they didnt finish her off, they just chased her way. Them Hyenas dont want no war!
I watched one doc where hyenas killed a lion, the pride tracked the pack of hyenas to their den ran the adults out then proceeded to murder the cubs and leave their corpses scattered around.
Dude.... do you remember the name of that documentary? Thant's one I'd love to see...

The one I saw happened at night into the morning but here is one where a lone male lion does it.

I used to hate Hyenas because Lions are my absolute favorite animal on this planet. Orcas at a close second.
You gotta remember though, the narrators of the documentaries make you hate the hyena. I saw one documentary where it actually reversed the roles and showed the lion as the scavenger stealing every meal the hyenas killed, while sympathizing with the hyena the whole documentary.
Still love the lion though!
