**Light Skin vs. Dark Skin (THE FINAL SHOWDOWN!!!)**

For those who seem to take offense to me saying I'm pretty because I have dark skin. Let me break it down. I was brought up to think that my dark skin kept me from being beautiful I chose to turn this around and embrace my skin color and in the end prefer my chocolate complexion because it is my own color. I think a light, medium, or white person should feel the same way. I'm attracted to guys of all colors and don't really understand how you can limit yourself to a particular hue of a race. But what makes sense to me doesn't have to make sense to others:rolleyes:.

This is the MOST fucked up generation. What do you expect from a generation that is proud to refer to themselves as *******. Oh, I'm sorry, niggas!

That's a good question. The era you pictured above knew and practiced Black Pride. (We never hear of it today) They had it right. Back then if you called someone a ****** fist were sure to fly. I've never thought of the n-word as a proper greeting to someone black. I don't know why the present generation feels the need to use it in such a cavalier manner. It's a word that has evolved from one of insult from the white race to one that now divides our generations. But this generation refuses to see the damage the n-word has caused.

I've seen white and colored water fountains, bathrooms and yes even strange fruit. The Light skin, dark skin issue needs to be put to rest. Its a ploy that dates back to the days of slavery. It kept us from uniting then and it's still a negative factor today 146 years after the freeing of slaves (Emancipation Proclamation) we still don't have it together, hence another thread on this subject. :smh:

Props to you on embracing your blackness. As for those who took offense to you, look at it as their loss. I feel beauty comes from within, I don't care how attractive you are (features) it's what's in your heart that makes the difference.

We have a long way to go in deprogramming our people. We are confused, gullible and misinformed and without direction.

We continue to operate as separate units instead of pooling our knowledge and resources to achieve and secure our futures. Checkout this video of Dr. Cress Welsing. She discusses, A Gigantic Lie. (You'll probably want to hear more there's a lot of her videos on Youtube. This lady is AWESOME!

She's also the author of the Isis Papers a remarkable book that's eye opening and both shocking.

Some of us knew what you were talking about so it's all good ... it still and always will be "the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice"
