This is tough but I edge it to the Blueprint only by the smallest of margins. Most of that comes from the production side of things for me personally, but Ye, Just and Bink were simply too much to handle at that time, no dis to Primo or Clark Kent.

Still both bangers and in rotation everyday.

Imma go with Big on this one... shit is just well put together... something for everybody on there!!

I picked blueprint. Only because its 1 disc and theres only 1 track that i skip in it. Which is never change. I
Usually end up skipping songs on life after death. Mostly from the first disc. The second disc is alright. Im not saying any of the tracks is bad. But i very rarely listen to a whole double album in 1 sitting.

both very decent albums yet still highly overrated imo
Come on man. I wasn't a Biggie or Jay Z fan for the longest back in the day. Funny thing is, these are the two albums that sold me on each of them.
Made me go back and really listen to Ready To Die. And made me continue to listen to Jay. Those albums were both classics. I listened to both equally.

Unfair

because if you cherry pick the 10 best songs (with a few bonus cuts) on BIG album it would pretty much sh*t on anyone else

*ahem the bolded is the UNDISPUTED CLASSICS...but aint nothing weak on here...

1. "Life After Death Intro"

2. "Somebody's Gotta Die"

3. "Hypnotize"

4. "Kick In the Door"

5. "Fuck You Tonight" (featuring R. Kelly)

6. "Last Day" (featuring The LOX)

7. "I Love the Dough" (featuring Jay-Z and Angela Winbush)

8. "What's Beef?"

9. "B.I.G. Interlude"

10. "Mo Money Mo Problems" (featuring Ma$e and Puff Daddy)

11. "Niggas Bleed"

12. "I Got a Story to Tell"

1. "Notorious Thugs" (featuring Bone Thugs-n-Harmony)

2. "Miss U"

3. "Another" (featuring Lil' Kim)

4. "Going Back to Cali"

5. "Ten Crack Commandments"

6. "Playa Hater"

7. "Nasty Boy"

8. "Sky's the Limit" (featuring 112)

9. "The World Is Filled..." (featuring Too $hort and Puff Daddy)

10. "My Downfall" (featuring D.M.C.)

11. "Long Kiss Goodnight"

12. "You're Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You)"

btw Jay album disputed classic top to bottom full version plus hidden tracks and remixes

no skip.

Hell I think I even skip ONE song on Illmatic.

i hate that nigga jigga . i can live without hovito as well. i can live without some songs on LAD too. but BIG was giving them story raps on there( i got a story to tell, niggas bleed etc.niggas bleed with Arizona ron crazy ass. he couldn't even get his flammable fluids correct ,lol. . 10 crack commandments, kick in the door, my downfall. that flow was insane. LAD on this one.

Stop it! BIG and his 2 lil album catalog shits on a LOT of rappers LPs.

Jay-Z (pick any album) < Notorious B.I.G.

Saaaaaaaaame exact thing.

Out of all the songs on LAD I skip two....the song with Jigga....shit had pufy written all over and shit is awful, but most people I know like it, the 2nd is Nasty Boy shit is awful. Or maybe they aren't that but the following song is just that nice.

After In My Life Time and Reasonable Doubt Jay-Z music became boring to me. It wasn't until all the hype surrounding this album did I start really fucking with his music again. Blueprint had hella singles and videos almost the whole album. I liked it because the production helped Jays raps not seem so boring to me anymore. But I can't say it tops LAD especially for all them boring albums in between.

Life After Death had entertainment and production and everything else with it. It was Big at his best right after Ready to Die. No way I could pick BP over LAD. LAD had more replay value for me. I got to see more of Bigs personality and sense of humor in music in top of some dope features. Production was good listening to that album was like watching a movie to me.

I got a story to tell is one of the greatest songs ever made. Big could tell a story with the best of em. Shit was hillarious. Niggas was buggin for weeks when that dropped. Trying to guess which Knick he was clowning

This. Pair down "Life After Death" and it's a certified classic. The 10 best songs from LAF vs the 10 best songs from "All Eyez On Me" would be a provocative discussion.

you NEED to make that thread...

I'm quite sure the two albums have been compared on here already. Besides, getting people to come to a consensus to the 10 best songs in each album would be challenging enough. Especially when it comes to AEOM! Songs I think were filler, like "Ambitionz..." And "Picture Me Rollin", are certified classics to other people.

CORRECT...

and I guess that pretty much eradicates any arguments against their classic status.

Cause their FILLER tracks are better than many artists HITS.

Bill Simmons PERSONALLY approached the Tupac estate to request permission to use his song...

many including myself consider a filler track

for almost a YEAR.

And listening to it regular now is one of my favorites.

That's how it is. The only song where people could come to a consensus to would be "Whatz Ya Phone #", since it's probably the worst song Pac ever recorded! But I'm sure there are people who loved that one as well.

I'm curious now though. I'm gonna make a separate thread to just to see what people list.

I'm still wondering he was talking about Kim in this phonecall.
