Van Jones, really? The Communist, Really? The one who Obama fired after 6 months?
Really?
Your post speaks for itself!
Van Jones, really? The Communist, Really? The one who Obama fired after 6 months?
Really?
Since when is just being a Communist a bad thing? It's no worse than being a Capitalist.
And he wasn't fired.
The fact you would post something from a self-avowed Communist speaks even louder.....communist POS!

Jones first moved to the Bay Area in the spring of 1992, when the San Francisco-based Lawyers Committee for Human Rights hired a batch of law students to act as legal observers during the trial of Rodney King's assailants. Eva Paterson, who was then the committee's executive director, remembers getting a cover letter that stood out from the rest: "It was this piece of stationery that had little faces across the top, a stencil of little guys with dreads. We said, 'Oh, yeah, we're hiring him.'"
Paterson got to know Jones over the coming months, and enjoyed having the young radical in her office. "He was a kid then, really," she said. "He was brilliant, pretty feisty, pretty in your face, but that's how you are when you're young. Just a force of nature."
When the verdicts came down -- not guilty for three of the officers involved, and deadlocked on the fourth -- Paterson's office, like the city, reacted with disbelief. Paterson said she felt like picking up her office chair and hurling it out the window. The staff hit the streets to monitor the demonstrations that erupted in San Francisco. One week later, while Jones was observing the first large rally since the lifting of the city's state of emergency, he got swept up in mass arrests. It was a turning point in his life.
Jones had planned to move to Washington, DC, and had already landed a job and an apartment there. But in jail, he said, "I met all these young radical people of color -- I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.'" Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. "I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary." In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."
But nothing substantively from you in response to the substance of Jones' comments . . .![]()
It's waaaay worse than being a capitalist. It's the reason the Soviet Union collapsed and eventually the reason for the collapse of the US. I advocate freedom whereas, under communism the state tells you what you can do. A communist simply represents a man that cannot stand on his own, No fuckin balls! forgive my lack of eloquence but Fuck a Bitch-Made, Communist!
Did he "resign"?
I mentioned in an early post that libertarians/conservatives always mention liberty and never justice.
He has nothing substantively to say about it. It's just not part of his DNA.
But nothing substantively from you in response to the substance of Jones' comments . . .![]()
THE 45 COMMUNIST GOALS AS READ INTO THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD, 1963
CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court
ok, you got me, I took a page out of Thought1's playbook.
Substantively, Jones' dialog is filled with the same failed ideology that has led the nation to the point where it is now. The brink of failure, yet the messege being touted is FORWARD!
Did you read those 45 planks to Communism? Do you recognize how many have been implemented? Did you peep his last statement regarding the "people with piercings & earings, gays, lesbians"? See planks 23 & 26. It is his advocation of the 45 planks toward Communism which is destroying America
QueEx, this movement didn't just start when Obama became President, I can't emphasize this enough! This was started over 40 years ago as evidenced from the Congressional record from 1963. So maybe you will lighten up on me when I'm critical of recent presidents. The political parties were highjacked a long time ago as evidenced in plank 15.
So when Jones wants to tell us that advocates of Libertarianism want to destroy America, he's an obvious hypocrite for following the 45 planks to communism, as was entered into congressional record in 1963.
PS. It's odd that some would play the "justice" card when Pres. Obama escalated Bush's use of drones while implementing a secret kill list.
Respectfully, to all, GTFOH with the Van Jones talk
We should RE-learn the basics of capitalism 101 from the Chinese.
Work, save, invest and go back to work and repeat the whole cycle over and over again.
THAT is capitalism.
So now you say communism is bad! As long as it's making money. Like I said, always liberty (freedom to exploit others for profit), no respect for capitalistic exploitation. That's Lamarr's agreement with capitalism.
Work, save, invest and go back to work and repeat the whole cycle over and over again.
THAT is capitalism.
I mentioned in an early post that libertarians/conservatives always mention liberty and never justice.
Since when is just being a Communist a bad thing?
:
It was "free markets" that created the middle-class and now people wonder where the good jobs have gone. Regulation (anti-capitalstic practices) hampers the "free" market and its ability to produce.
Come on now UD!
Only one change of clothes, we will provide you a uniform comrade!
It also hampers the naked capitalists from exploiting workers and permanently scarring the environment.
After all, this was a capitalist nation in 1864 until someone came up with the regulation that employers had to pay their employees and couldn't own them anymore.
I wear the American uniform. There is no morality to either capitalism or communism, they're just competing ideologies, both with their positives and negatives.
The most successful economies are the ones that ably combine capitalism and socialism as this country used to understand and the Chinese are figuring out.
We have veered from the original topic, however UD is confusing communism and socialism.
Communism is a political theory where there are no political or economic classes and the wealth is owned by all in the sociality.
Socialism is using collective resources for the benefit of the whole sociality. The US has always been socialist. The Post Office, the military, the roads.
Karl Marx developed his communist, socialist science movement in response to the exploitation of the capitalists of the industrial revolution in England around the mid 1800s.
The USSR was a communist, socialist government. Taking from both political theories.
The USA economy grew fast in the 1870s and 1880s. For the first time, super wealthy industrialists were created with the help of the government giving them land and resources for little or nothing in exchange for building railroad lines. The industrialist got rich while the workers were subject to boom and bust waves of the economy.
Then after the first great depression in 1880, labor movements began to develop in the US. Workers were looking for justice from the influences of the money that was being used to buy politicians by the wealthy industrialists.
From these unions the wealthiest worker middle class was created in the history of the world.
Today we are repeating the same issues as we did in the late 1880s.
A generation of ill-educated people are repeating the same things over and over.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
