New Haven apizza is the closest you are going to get to real authentic Italian pizza in the US. Brick ovens, lite gravy(sauce), over sized veggies and meat, slight burn on the crust.....

I mentioned this previously but that’s the biggest shock for me in this poll cause I enjoy Connecticut Pizza. I think where they fall behind nationally is the commercial aspect and marketability. Chicago has Little Casaers and NY is NY, but outside Pete’s New Haven, you really don’t see much CT pizza outside CT. Shame cause it’s so damn good.

So New York style pizza clearly ran away with this one as expected. Big ups to all the other pizza styles too though. So many different regions and flavors to try but it always comes back to that classic NY slice.

I’m gonna start working on a more local poll, specifically to NYC as the winner , so go ahead and recommend your fav spots. Try and keep it to spots that are still open and functioning so folks can visit if and when they’re in the city.

Yea I’ve heard good thing about Detroit pizza in Detroit. Those pans are clutch with the burnt sides
