In the last 20 years an ADOS has portrayed a non ADOS on film 11 times total (including the 2 you listed). Idris Elbra alone has played an ADOS in 28 different projects the last 15. Its no comparison. What ADOS actor has migrated to the UK or Nollywood and taken feature film spots from the blacks there? Ill wait.
You know what would be powerful? If these folks instead of cosplaying us in every role or hiring ADOS vocal coaches every project, what if they actually got Hollywood to tell their stories as migrants, or Black Brit history, or Nigerian history, whatever and actually brought something new to the game? I haven't seen the movie but I can really guess how it ends. I couldn't wholeheartedly as a black man and a filmmaker do a movie where the black faces are in the right and the whites in the wrong and not have "us" win in the end. I mean win fucking clearly, no symbolism or moral victories, I mean I'm in charge right? Why end things the way they may in real life and make the journey sorrowful? Nah, last thing I need after paying money to be entertained is to feel hurt and mad due to the ending.

I've seen many black movies that I kind of wish I had not sat through - kinda like bought a ticket and just came home ('Little' being one that comes to mind). This was not one of those movies. Their interactions, everything seemed largely natural and fluid.
I'd give it a solid 8.75. not because I saw something wrong with the movie, but very few movies get 9's or 10's from me.
