It shows how great someone is when you have to compare “team” stats rather than “individual” stats.

That being said, he's definitely in the GOAT discussion, and has a lot of strong points to support him in that context. On court performance, team accomplishments, historical context and longevity all need to be included in the debate, but the factors the player themselves have control over should weigh more heavily than those say dependent on Managerial and GM moves, etc.

You will never see Jordans stats placed next to LeBron ever again. Team success is all MJ has over LeBron.

The only stats that are close are points and thats because MJ averaged 5 more shots a game. LeBron has more rebounds, assists, 3pointers, shoots a higher FG%, more triple doubles. And thats just regular season. Hes already surpassed all stats in the playoffs LeBron is shooting 58% this season. Jordan at his peak was never that unstoppable, let alone Year 15. A small forward who shoots better and is a better passer than a guard is embarassing.
yeah he got 9 more scoring titles, 3 more stealing titles, 1 more dpoy, 1 more mvp, 3 more finals mvp..lebron is not on the same level as jordan.. when they both had played 1,092 reg season games..jordan surpassed lebron by 3000 points, 700+ steals, and 23 blks... so head to head they both weren't on the same level once again.. jordan is batman and at best lebron would be robin...or denzel and terrance howard

Jordans stats outside of scoring are lame. His rings are the only thing worth mentioning. Hell the Finals themselves are boring and unwatchable. Post his stats in Year 15. Not Brons fault Jordan was injury prone and didnt last long.
LeBron is a better offensive player than MJ. How can a guy who shoots a worst percentage and didnt run his teams offense be better? Pippen ran their offense. All MJ did was shoot. Them shoes got you talkin crazy.
LeBron is a more versatile defender than MJ. MJs steals and blocks came from weak side play. He gave all tough defensive assignments (Magic, Bird, GP, Penny, etc) to Pip.

No Pippen was the team's ball handler and ran their plays. MJ wasnt a good set up man and tended to pass his teammates the ball late in shot clocks as a bail out when he couldnt get his shot off. They lost games behind that. So Phil made Scottie the PG and ALWAYS had him check the other team's best player so MJ could chuck shots. He wasnt anything like what LeBron does night in and night out.
most people in their peak never shot 58 percent.. lebron points come from closer range
-Yeah they guy who scores 60+ in regulation and doesnt need double overtimes to do it (MJ's career high in regulation is 58 points)
-the guy who's lead every team he's played on in assists and is top 4 this season (MJ led 3 of his 15 teams in assists and never finished top 5 in a season)
-the guy who's #26 all time in 3 pointers made (MJ isnt even in the top 250)
-the guy who's averaged over 25 a game 14 straight seasons (MJ only did it for 12 straight)
-the guy who shoots a higher FG percentage and has more 50% FG seasons
-the guy who in Year 15 is still a Finals contender instead of begging for all star selections on farewell tours.
there was a point when jordan averaged 6 assist a game so what are you talking about..lebron plays fake pg and still never averaged at least 9 assist a game let alone 10...so fake magic johnson is ball dominant and yet fails at averaging a double double..yet jordan wasn't trying to be a pg and still was dishing out 6 a game

LeBron is averaging 8.7 at age 33. MJ at age 25-26 couldnt even do that.Jordan was just OK as a ball handler and set up man. He was known to palm, carry, and outright walk with the ball. Pippen was a better passer and ran the offense. At no point was Jordan as good an offensive player than LeBron. He was a better scorer, and even that is slight because LeBron takes a lot less shots and is only 3 points below his average and will end up scoring at least 5,000 more career points. He's already lapped him in playoff scoring.
