Lebron chooses not to cosign Darfur criticism

After Katrina, I saw the cat at a Sam's club. The employees told me he had just FILLED two 18 wheelers with supplies headed for N.O. and that he had dropped at least a half million on that shopping spree. No cameras, no press, just Lebron and a truck. I know plenty of grown men who haven't said shit about Darfur. What has T.D. Jakes said? How about Creflo? Joel Olsteen? There is AT LEAST one preacher in every city in this country now calling himself a MAN OF GOD and driving a Bentley that ain't said SHIT about Darfur OR Katrina, but nigz are still tything to them every week without fail and got them up on a pedestal like God himself.

But a 22 year old basketball player gotta save the world.

Preach.

We should wait to hear what Mr.James says 1st ,before we pass judgement
if he didnt want to sign it - thats his business

Negroes need to quit expecting Black athletes to be some kind of MESSIAH
those cats spend their whole life focused on one thing - SPORTS

thank goodness for the ones that are socially conscious

thanks for the links...did some more reading...i can see a scenario where the us would take more interest if iraq wasn't already a bigger 'prize' in the grand scheme of things, oil-wise...much of the data talks about sudan's 'potential' in terms of oil dealings, whereas iraq's reserves are more tangible...sad to say, but when it comes to picking conflicts...follow the money

anyway you slice it, fucked situation...african assets in foreign hands, much like diamonds on other parts of the continent...while the ppl suffer...

still, with regard to the original post, it's a lot to ask a 22 year old that has focused his entire life on a sport to understand...most adults don't understand all the issues involved either

This nigga is so smart he doesn’t even know what is going on in Darfur, so he needs to do more fucking research. for crying out loud were da fuck has he been for the last 4 years?
Is fuckin easy for LJ to fill 7 trucks with whatever fuckin shit he wants but the more courageous act would have been for him to say the fed gov failed the people of NO because the were poor black folks.

Bullshit....Couldnt be true because I didnt see this covered on ESPN or even the great FOX NEWS. :smh: I wonder why the media didnt cover this and shame other athletes into helping out? Oh thats right, they didnt give a fuck. :hmm:

 @ cats speaking as if it's a legal document. There ain't much to the Darfur situation research-wise. One can get up to speed on the basics via a 5 minute convo. Stay ign'ant tho. I hope LeBrain can digest the info eventually.

Maybe somebody can email him this fuckin picture to start his mudafuckin research.
Either sing the fuckin thing or say u wont because u don’t give a shit!! but don’t fucking use ignorance as an excuse because it’s just pathetic!!

I don't give a fuck about a LeBron James...he's a small fish...the biggest culprits are the U.S. ( and all other governments that have not taken steps to resolve the conflicts ) and the U.N....both have turned their backs and ignored shit for far too long...this shit is bigger than LeBron, but it would have been nice if he didn't pull a Michael Jordan and decide to be Nike's bitch...hmmmm....maybe he really is the next Jordan after all...

These bruhs, Jim Brown and the rest were fighting for THEIR OWN. Not to say the people in Darfur aren't our brothas on a global scale, but these cats were repping THEIR COUNTRY and being shit on by THEIR COUNTRY. There is a BIG difference between fighting for your OWN civil rights and taking a stand on one of MANY international issues (just because that is the "issue of choice" right now). Darfur DESERVES international attention, but so do 20 other borderline genocidal situations going on in the world at the same time. Liberia had to be worked out by Nigeria and other African nations (with little to no attention or help outside of the continent), Nigeria has it's own problems it keeps swept under the rug, Angola and Zaire too (you could go on forever JUST about Africa without even bringing up Haiti, the Carribean, several spots in S. America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East (where we are assisting in our own home-grown genocide). When I was 22, Rwanda and Somalia were going on simutaneously and Ethiopia was STILL going on but being ignored because Rwanda and Somalia were "sexier" at that particular time. I say give the bruh a break, there is so much shit going on in the world today that even the most SEASONED international activist can't swallow it all and shit is not looking all that good recently for folks in this country either. A person would literally go crazy trying to save the world we live in today and with all the misinformation going on, I'd do my own research too before just buying into the latest CNN reports on what China is doing.

BTW...

The petition didn't condemn the Janjaweed militia or the Sudanese government, it condemned China for trading with the Sudanese government (which MANY U.S. and Euro entities do as well, they just aren't government controlled). There ain't even so much as an EMBARGO against Sudan on the international level right now. You could go out tomorrow and travel to Sudan or buy Sudanese products (even though it ain't much to visit and the only product they really have to sell is oil), but you can't buy a Cuban cigar.

Sudan is Nubia, so all of humanity should have a stake in what is going down there, those are original people being slaughtered, but that ain't something Lebron can fix, it's something the WORLD has to and if the world isn't doing shit, I'm not gonna fault a 22 year old baller. Hell, all I can do is post about it on the web, if you don't have a LOT of guns and a LOT of funds and a will to make a change, you are just as powerless as he is.
