I blame that shit on Nostalgia. We will see what this new one does. I saw the trailer....that nostalgia has worn the fuck off. This shit looks trash. And it probably is because there's no where they can go with this dumb ass story.

People just want to be entertained for two hours. Some of you look too deep at shit. They want to get out the house and see shit blow up and CGI and special effects.

And you got that out of the last one? I don't care about deep movies. I like Fast and the Furious. I like Guardians of the Galaxy. Jurassic World wasn't shit and that new trailer offers nothing.

Yeah the the force awakens opened on christmas and it didn’t have this type of competition in the second week.

I think we all knew that this movie wasn’t going to beat Force Awakens. No second movie in the Trilogies of the franchise.. has out performed the first one

It’s pacing better over seas then Rogue One was at this point... and Rogue One and Force Awakens had a simultaneous world Wild opening. The Last Jedi still has markets it hasn’t released in yet.

Once audiences were hip to the quality of The Last Jedi, that crushed it's week two earnings

Yes, it will make bank when it opens in China and elsewhere, doesn't change the fact that the film had a bad second week drop due to the quality associated with it.

Agree... I still think the competiton and the Christmas holiday had some effect on it but yeah it’s a big drop off.

It’s still going to do fine... this is not a Batman v Superman situation where you had a movie that didn’t have legs to carry it.

Even though everyone’s opinion on this is split... I want Star Wars to continue to do out the mode stories like this and Rogue One.

Foreign markets view films differently. When I watch a movie I am both an American and person who didn’t watch tv until he got to America. It’s why every couple years I actually go and see a Transformers movie. I know the movie itself is garbage, but the spectacle of it still amazes me.

Had to look this up but COCO is on its way to becoming the second highest grossing animated film in China besides Despicable Me. Right now COCO has grossed 486 million world wide. That’s actually not that bad when you consider that Disney didn’t really advertise this film.

but it`s kinda expected....force was highly anticipated ...last jedi coming behind 2 previously released star wars movie...

so not as big a buzz....still do a billion ...

I’m still sticking with 1.5 billion. China is the ex factor here. I need to see what opening in China when this opens.
