4 realz!!!

My Pops put me on to Rock & Soul, it's where I picked up my first set of turntables (Technics SL-B2s), tape deck (Technics as well, first series they had with light meters/played chrome and metal tapes) and my second set of turntables years later as well (Technics SL-1700MKIIs) and took my boy there to get his set of turntables (SL-1200MKIIs) when he came home from the Air Force and quite a few other things here and there as well!

I used to live in there on a Friday after work...all the dj's going through crates and waiting to listen to the cuts on the turntable in the back. There was also discoroma, vinylmania, A1 records, and Danctraxx

Co-sign to ALL of the above!!!

I'm forgetting the name of that other record spot (I believe it was Record Explosion) near 42nd street on Broadway that had the older White guy with the bald head that knew EVERY break beat and song that came out!!!

My memory of all of these spots is fading!:smh:

Hunting down the new rap record/break beat was a ritual for DJs back in the day, funds were limited so I had to always decide which records to buy 2 of, lol!!!
