Since Ill be using it for gaming every now and then, based on the specs of these laptops, which one is the best deal? The only thing that bothers me about the U530 is the graphics card and the fact that it doesn't have a dvd drive. Ahhhhh these decisions are taking a toll on me. :hmm:

They all are good systems. Using a monolithic kernel would save you a lot of overhead.

In other words the machines are fine without the virus known as Windows ruining a good system.

yeha im not even used to windows 8 and apparently the U30 (the first one i mentioned) is unable to run anything besides windows 8. The last 2 i mentioned with higher specs allow me to run 7 if i want to. Still not sure if the u530 will be good for gaming though w that graphics card...

remove the first one if you intend to game.

the 6gb ram on the 2nd one concerns me. sounds like 4gb + 2gb
is it 2 physical dimms or 1 embedded into the board? be a hassle if you
want to upgrade.

i like my memory to be installed as identical pairs.

also find out if you can remove the dvd and install a 2nd drive i.e. ssd
i personally have not really used a dvd in ages i get everything online
or put it in thumb drives.
