Kids get taken out of school all the time. Child actors, musicians, entertainers, soccer players, etc.
Melo isn't a regular schoolkid. He's going an unconventional route to his dreams. Nothing wrong with that.
And maybe getting a formal education isn't his focus at the moment. But best believe he's getting a education in life while living and playing professional ball in a foreign country.

Gelo got caught stealing. He literally did one of the dumbest things a person in his position could do. On one hand, with UCLA giving him an indefinite suspension, going to Lithuania was a good look for him. Melo on the other hand. He got too much potential to be playing in Lithuania. He should be playing in the US at one of the top basketball high schools against real competition.

He has potential but he wasn't going to fulfill that potential in high school basketball. How good he will be will be determined when he's 18 or 19 and the competition he sees then. He has a solid foundation now. And it helps that he has a brother in the league.

What Tyler did and what the Ball's are doing aren't even in the same atmosphere. If you want to give him credit for doing it first? Fair enough....but there is more to this then just taking his kids out of school.
I never once said what Ball is doing is right. That's never been my stance. My stance has always been to take a wait and see approach of what he's doing.
