Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback and the National Football League’s reigning Most Valuable Player, on Thursday became the highest-profile player to test positive for the coronavirus as an outbreak of cases spread to more than a dozen players on the team, according to several media outlets.
The cluster of new cases threatened to upend the team’s next game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, an N.F.C. North matchup that the league had already moved to Sunday afternoon from Thanksgiving night.
It could also create a cascade effect for the league’s schedule makers, who had already shifted more than a dozen games so far this season because of the virus and appear to have little wiggle room in the 16-game schedule for further postponements.
The N.F.L. Network reported that Jackson, 23, who the team selected in the first round of the 2018 Draft, had tested positive for the virus.
The league on Thursday night would not confirm whether Jackson had been added to the team’s Covid-19 reserve list, which already had 10 players on it as of Wednesday. Four more players were added on Thursday, ESPN reported.
The league said on Thursday night that Sunday’s game between the Ravens and Steelers in Pittsburgh would still be played.
It was not immediately clear whether Jackson had shown any symptoms of the virus, which sidelined the New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton earlier in the season.
Jackson played last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in a home loss for the Ravens, who had shut down their team facility because of the outbreak.
Baltimore’s starting running back, Mark Ingram II, was one of three players added to the team’s Covid-19/reserve list on Monday. On Wednesday, the team’s starting defensive tackle, Calais Campbell, was one of three more players added to the list.

That should secure Clevelands reappearance in the playoffs since 1960
I hate to laugh at this, but I didn't give him the Rona. The Browns had the wrong set of Misfortune with Myles Garrett catching it oh, but he isn't the quarterback. And this is the weakest point of our schedule. It doesn't look like the Ravens are going to make it because I don't know who their backup quarterback is, RG3? They do have a pretty good running game so let's not write them out of the picture just yet

Is anyone else surprised that the NFL season has lasted this long?

Both their running backs are out; Lamar will be out, and if RG3 is not confirmed
positive, he may be the one we play. Still Baltimore is dangerous, and regardless
of who plays, we need to be careful.

The corona Ghost is beginning to show its hand very hard right now

I think you have understated the number of years Cleveland has failed to make the playoffs by at least 20
The Cleveland Browns last made the playoffs in 2002 with Kelly Holcomb at quarterback. They played the Steelers and were beating the Steelers Handlery until all of a sudden the bottom fell out

Lamar Jackson: I still can't taste or smell after Covid-19 diagnosis

Back in action after a 15-day Covid-19 layoff, Lamar Jackson directed a relentless rushing attack that the Baltimore Ravens hope will be the first big step in a run to the playoffs, but admitted he is still experiencing symptoms of the disease.

Jackson ran for 94 yards and a touchdown, and the Ravens returned from their Covid-19 outbreak to amass 294 yards rushing in a 34-17 rout of the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday night.

Playing for the first time since 22 November following a positive test for the potentially deadly virus, Jackson carried 13 times and threw for two scores. He was one of 23 Ravens to spend time on the reserve/Covid-19 list while four different strains of the virus swept through the organization.

“I had a little flu-like symptoms. I still can’t really taste or smell, but I’m good now,” Jackson said. “That’s an effect that comes [with Covid-19]. I guess my sense of taste and smell are going to come back sooner than later, but I’m good now. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody, though. It’s not good to have.”

Although the Ravens still have a half-dozen players on the Covid-19 list, the team felt complete for the first time in weeks.
“It’s like when you go on a family vacation and one of your family members get sick and you can’t bring them,” rookie linebacker Patrick Queen said. “You’re down in the dumps.”

The game was played on Tuesday night because Baltimore’s previous game against Pittsburgh last Wednesday was pushed back three times while the Ravens had at least one player test positive for 10 consecutive days.

The game was supposed to feature Ravens receiver Dez Bryant going against his former team, but Bryant left during warmups and was scratched with what Baltimore termed “an illness.”

Bryant wrote on Twitter that he tested positive for Covid-19 and later posted: “Yea I’m going to go ahead and call it a quit for the rest of the season... I can’t deal with this.” He subsequently posted a series of tweets, including, “Yea I’m coming back... I’m being smart.”
If Jackson was rusty or stale after missing a game, it was tough to tell by his performance. “The one thing you do know about Lamar: You’re going to get everything he’s got,” Harbaugh said. “That’s all you can ask for.”
