They should have never picked up Artest should have kept Ariza.

I made that point right after the Lakers signed Artest and everybody was ready to hand over this years NBA championship to the Lakers.

Well If the Lakers sign Artest, I would definitely go hard after Ariza, if I were the Celtics or Cavs, personally I think the Lakers become a more stagnant team with Artest as opposed to Ariza, and Ariza presence alone will open up a lot more lanes, on a team with other scores.
The reason why I say this, is because Artest is productive level as the number two or one option is high, the more shots he takes the more involvement level he has, however when he is the third or four option, he tends to daydream on the court, with out a certain amount of touches Artest is a less disciplined player. Ariza on the other hand always plays at a high level of hustle, no matter how little touches he gets, he is also a more consistent outside shooter that does not need to hog the ball to be acurate, plus he is faster, quicker, gets up and drives to the hole better than Artest.
Don't believe me, check out Artest output level with and with out, McGrady.

The Lakers just had a bad game, they had the 2nd best record in the league so Ariza wasn't missed that much because they had games kinda like this last year against Houston

If you look at the Lakers spacing this year vs last, you would know exactly what I mean. Plus right now Kobe is nothing more than the Wash Wizard version of Jordan, pull up shooter, who don't take it to the pain, leaving the total number of drivers on the Lakers at 1 (Gasol, when he runs that high pick and roll) and even that is limited if you have the people to defend it correctly.
With Ariza not only did it give them a ligitamate outside threat, when the defense collapse in the paint vs Bynum and Gasol, it also gives them another driver.
While Artest brings tough hard gritty defense, he is far from the shut down defender many think he is, with hard work he can be had by many big superstars in the league, and with people thinking that Artest is better than what he is, it gives the Lakers a false sense of security.

Yeah the Lakers won it LAST Year, and I do believe they will win the Series, but they are being made to look bad against a team in its FIRST Year in the playoffs, YOUNG as hell, with a ROOKIE Coach!!! Showing vulnerabilities is one thing, but play like this against a hungry CAVS team or even a hungry Portland, SA or Dallas team and it's a rap!!!

Honestly, and I am a HUGE Kobe Fan, I don't see them coming out of the West at this point. Whether people want to admit it or not, giving up Ariza, they lost a piece of their Character and their Identity... He might be fucking with KD a lil bit but Dude is still giving him 28 and 11 for the series, and his overall stat line is better than Kobe's?!?!?! Artest, 7 and 3, and you trade a young stud in the making like Ariza for this shit?!?!?! Artest hasn't proven he is a team winner anywhere, so why start now.... Dumb assed move.

Motherfuckers gotta realize that in TODAY'S NBA, you can't just Turn it on like a light switch anymore. If OKC can maintain their confidence, it might be setting up to be an upset.

no. This wasn't like the pheonix game. There have been times where Kobe came out looking to pass, and the team stayed close, then he applied himself after the bigs were established.

The team takes this loss. No hustle, no heart. All of them. Especially Lamar Odor.

I was watching that shit in disbelief observing what Kobe was doing..this was the Phoenix series all over again..he literally refused to set up his players & when he did he did it very sarcastically..i was watching plays where he penetrated the lane & instead of taking the easy mid-range shot he threw it all the way out to the perimeter

I'll say this, when he's gone, motherfuckers will finally appreciate the talent we've been blessed to have been able to see live. I truly believe he will be considered one of the top 10 players of all time when he's done. That being said, I do believe he did a lot of subliminal pouting this game.. Oh Well...

I think at the beginning of the game he was on some spiteful shit. Meaning Phil must have told him to cut down on his shooting, and for spit he didn't take any shots at the beginning, and did not play aggressive, almost to put LA in a hole, as if to say thats what happens when I am not involved.
I don't mind Kobes shooting, just as long as he dont shoot the Lakers out the game, and just as long as he gets his teammates involved in the process and if the shots are not falling down, then he should find other ways to contribute to the team. That mailing it in, at the begging of the game is not acceptable and quiting when it got too tough is just as bad!

Before the game Phil Jackson said he and Kobe had reviewed the videotape of Game 3's fourth quarter. Jackson said "three or four of those shots had been dumped on him'' because Kobe's teammates weren't in position to help.

But he said two or three of those were "hero shots,'' shots that should never have been taken, while noting Kobe had driven to the basket with intensity only once.

In conclusion, he said, the Lakers need to "try and get more attack out of Kobe.''

I got real problems with that 'Turn the Shit on/off when you feel like it' motivation logic. OKC aint your normal 8 seed, real live squad, young with a fuck it attitude. If LA had capitalized on the Game 1 frustration and stuck a knife in them maybe...but now, these Dudes have hung with them in the losses and the series is now tied....might not be as easy as you think for LA to 'Turn it On'. As much as they may get motivation from the L, OKC might be getting motivation from the fact that we can hang with and play with the World Champs. LA gonna have to fight to win this Jawn!!!

the question i asked was have you seen tobe not take a FGA in 15 consecutive minutes of a game.

This game the whole Laker team lacked intensity. The team bitched out.

i can meet you part of the way. i think the supersonics played with a lot more energy, intensity and urgency. i think part of the fakers' (as a team) problem stemmed from them sensing that one of their starters was sand-bagging.

there was a stretch where lamar odom committed a sequence of personal fouls. you could see at that point that he just didn't give a fuck anymore.

but pointing out that ron artest was struggling from the field is a non-issue in my book. ron artest has been struggling the entire season. this is nothing new. he doesn't completely grasp the triple post O, and he's faced with the confounding factor of player an overlapping position in the O: simultaneous SF with tobe.

edit: forgot to address your view that the whole team played like ass. it's easy to make an entire team look like ass when you have one individual who is willing to tank a game to sabotage the group goal.
