Laker's vs Thunder Series Thread

this game is starting to look like the Game 6 of the 2008 NBA Finals.

It's all good. The Thunder did what they was supposed to do. Hold serve on they're home court. Lamar and Artest have to bring heart to the game. Something bout them NY NBA players...ain't worth a DAMN!!!!

Re: Thunder Series Thread

If you can say the defense saw that and played accordingly then you would have a point but they didn't. Whenever he drove a man came open because the defense was thinking "he's shooting"

very poor and convoluted reasoning, P.

on penetration by ANY player, common D principles has the weak side rotating to the middle/baseline.

the fakers (like MANY, MANY, MANY teams) have as a SET PLAY a weak side pressure release. (i've explained this on BGOL before, as coach brown was a BIG fan of this when he coached the detroit pistons).

so getting back to your sentence, a man did not "come open"'; he is directed to that spot.

and it isn't because tobe was penetrating looking for a shot, it was because ANY player was penetrating.

Huh:confused: It doesn't matter how you put it the man was open. Like i said before

You were talking about the 4 on 6 reality and i'm saying i didn't see it

P,

what does the D really have to do with it?

if a player tanks on his squad in a petulant FGA boycott, isn't that sufficient harm?

I have a feeling that next game will be heavily influenced by the refs and LA will win. It usually happens like that.

most definitely, tha refs will play a huge role in Game 5 and give tha Lakers tha advantage but if tha Thunder can bring this effort, then maybe.. just maybe, they'll give themselves a chance for a W in tha closing seconds

Yeah but the Lakers aren't even making the freethrows when they get them.

that's very true. we need to just practice hitting free throws all practice. remember what even got u in the nba. fundamentals.

don't hang your heads laker fans! best 2 outta 3! don't get complacent! lakeshow stand up and make these mutha fukas kiss tha mutha fukin RINGS!

Exactly, Harden ain't showing up on the road and OKC gotta prove they can win in LA. OKC didn't do anything people didn't expect.

the blueprint is in place. but a fragile primadonna ego doesn't want to commit to the team goals:

Cleamons has some words of caution as Game 4 looms Saturday night. "If we don't pay attention to detail, it will cause our demise," he said.

Cleamons, in charge of putting together the Lakers' game plan against the Thunder, has given the players the blueprint.

"There are a lot of areas that we can improve," Cleamons said. "It doesn't require major surgery, but it requires us paying attention to detail and having a willingness to execute at the offensive end and the defensive end as a unit."

"The 31 three-point shots says that we aren't being patient enough to look inside," Cleamons said. "And we don't need to settle."

"We can't give up on our post players," Cleamons said. "Our post players can't give up on us. We have to find a way to get the ball inside."

"We tend to settle sometimes a little too much," Gasol said. "We have to create penetration. We have to take advantage of our size.

"We took too many three-point shots. We made some in the first half, and we were cautioning them in the first half about not settling for three-point shots and continue to work their offense. Those shots will start to go awry in the second half, and they did tonight." (coach jackson)

Yeah it became harmful when all that passing wasn't paying off and he continued to try it. the Lakers were just out hustled tonight

Yep..been happening like that for decades. Game 5 could be just as lopsided for the Lakers at home... but the Lakers better not fuck around in game 5

Re: Thunder Series Thread

Poor effort by the Lakers, but the Thunder looked hungrier, more energetic and definitely came to play. I've never been a Kobe fan, b/c he always seems to want that glory for himself and it looked like he was trying to not look for his game out there b/c of the blame he took for the last game. Either way OKC tied up the series, I hope they take it.

I still feel the Lakers will win this series but as Road Rage said. The Lakers are starting to look like a team that the longer the series go on the harder it will be for them.

We saw in Houston when no Yao and no T-mac team took the would be champs 7 games.

C/S I hope they take it too.

Thats the point I was trying to get across on this thread.

They should have never picked up Artest should have kept Ariza.

This shit is gonna haunt the fuck out of them for Years!!! :smh: At least at some point Ariza could have taken some of the scoring load... Artest... not so much.. :smh: Motherfucker had 5 points tonight??!?!? And how the fuck are the Lakers gonna complain about NOT getting to the link with their top player only takes 10 FG attempts? GTFOH with that bullshit.
