Lacey came to prominence after winning The Sun’s Page 3 Idol competition in 2011. At the time she said, “I’m absolutely ecstatic. I never ever thought I could win. The other girls in the final were so gorgeous.” It was Lacey’s mother who encouraged her daughter to try out for the competition. Lacey admitted she and her mother have had a rocky relationship in the past, but winning brought them closer together. (Lacey moved out when she was 16 to live with her best friend.) She said, “I don’t think Page 3 or glamour modeling is wrong – it’s just skin.”
When she won, Lacey Banghard was studying at Bedford College and worked part-time in a call center. She also applied for coursework at the London College of Fashion.
She has also appeared in 2013 on “Celebrity Big Brother,” in which she was the third contestant to be evicted.
In an interview with thesun.co.uk, Lacey said, “I am body confident but that’s only from being on Page 3. I would literally look at my body all the time and I’d think ‘I hate this and I hate that.’ Being on Page 3 made me realize you have got what you are given and you have to learn to love it and embrace it.” She added, “I now only look at the positives and ignore all the negatives. I love being a Page 3 idol, it’s what has got me to where I am today.”
Lacey Banghard has considered posing nude in Playboy, though admitted, “It’s a bit more than what I’m comfortable with.” She would also consider creating a clothing line, as well as branching out in sex toys. She’d also love to land a role on “Downton Abbey.” “I’d like to try some acting. Just have a dabble in things and see what I want to do.”
Lacey Banghard has trademarked her name. “I do want to put it into T-shirts and boxers and really sell it because men love the name – it compliments them hugely.”
She loves hip-hop music, especially Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kings of Leon and Jessie J.
