I'm speaking from the stand-point of a man who also set really high goals for himself and works extremely hard. Whether he says it or not, Kobe Bryant started chasing Jordan long before he was drafted. When he was drafted, he said he wanted to be able to face a lot of some of the aging legends he grew up watching, before they retired.

Who retired two seasons after Kobe was drafted? Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

As someone whose been following him since 1995, I'd feel sorry for him in the sense that - now only did he not achieve his goal, but no matter WHAT he does, people will never even consider him close.

That's all I'm saying, man.

Shaq and Phil was upset after the game because they felt Kobe wasn't looking to win the game but just prove to Jordan how better he is now.

There's no comparison. Each stands well on there own two feet. Kobe will probably win more than Jordan but that's not the measure of a player. It's the measure of the star player and the ability to put a team around him. Neither one of them could have done it without the franchises they were part of. But still two of the best player's ever.
