Bill Walker is a second rounder wit a fucked up knee.
Joey Dorsey is a secound round,6'7 power forward.
I watched Joe alexander in college, and I aint see the offensive force I guess others did. He's a hell of an athlete, but we already have that. His ceiling is what it is at 22.Gallinari may not be who I wanted, but he's better than Joe Alexander. At 19,he's his teams leading scorer in a league that's better than the NCAA,by far.Playing against grown men.And from what I seen on youtube, the lil nicca has a mean streak. He just don't play no fucking defense.Anybody think that last year Joe Alexander could be in the Euroleague and average 18 a game against grown men?
The Celtics already had a pick.
But traded FOR Walker ON DRAFT DAY. Despite his injuries.

What does that tell you? They know what they are doing.

He's better than Dorsey anyway.
- Gallinari at 6'10' does not have the deadly shooting range that Dirk has.
- Also he's pretty weak... for 6'10'... since he's gonna be playing against Omeka Okafor and Sam Dalembert-types.
- Has NO back to the basket / low-post moves.
- And can BARELY jump over a phone book.

- Without that shooting range and NO low post moves... he's NOT going to be able to take those guys off-the-dribble all day long... because his game will become VERY easy to defend... VERY quickly (i.e. if a defender moves his feet, and stays in front of him, he's probably gonna take 3 or 4 dribbles then PASS THE BALL, everytime

)
- Plus D'Antoni will most likely have him spotting-up around the 3-pt line off the fast-break like Dirk does, unfortunately his height won't give us ANY rebounds like that.

- Now any player in the league, regardless of their ethnicity, who is taller than 6'10' and plays SIGNIFICANT minutes but averages FAR LESS than 7 or 8 rebounds per game is MUCH TOO SOFT for NBA-level contact. Only a chosen few manage to make-up for it by having SUPERIOR offense.
Don't kid yourself. Gallinari has potential.. but he is a PROJECT.
Because his 14.5 points per game against grown men (in Europe) where there is a LACK OF MONSTROUS BIG MEN.... won't mean much in the NBA. Not with the current flaws in his game.
By the time he becomes decent in about 4 or 5 years or so... these other guys like Walker, Dorsey & Alexander will already be 'solid contributors' on their respective teams.
Now if Gallinari was averaging 19 or 20 pts per game, or better... then I might agree with you.
Besides, Joe Alexander is a better athlete with CRAZY HOPS... who WANTS the ball when the shot-clock gets low. And doesn't have as many flaws.
We shall see.
