Knicks big target? Dalembert

http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/281772-knicks-big-target-dalembert?sct=hp_bf2_a7&eref=sihp

Carmelo Anthony has returned to the city, and New York may see another basketball homecoming of sorts. Sources close to Knicks president Donnie Walsh say he has targeted Kings 6-foot-11 shot blocker Samuel Dalembert as the likeliest free-agent catch this summer. Walsh's old-school principles have made adding a big, bruising starting defensive center to play alongside power forward Amar'e Stoudemire his No. 1 priority. It might be a strong enough urge to sacrifice what could be maximum cap room in 2012, essentially sacrificing a shot at point guard Chris Paul. ... Dalembert has strong New York-area ties. He played his senior year of high school at St. Patrick's in Elizabeth, N.J., before heading to Seton Hall.

C'mon Son... Why???? :smh:

Dalembert or Marc Gasol would be a good pick up....I really want CP3 but I won't get hopes up...we don't need anymore scorers...we need size and defense....thats critical right now...

knicks need size... chris paul isn't over 6'10 and can't play center... knicks need size..we don't need a 3rd star...i had hoped we'd give jordan the chance to win the job but we need size and dalembert is our best option

Sure..why not?

In the Knicks system, with or without D'Antoni, we need a shotblocking center with size, not another scorer who needs the ball to be effective. Yes, we'll need a point guard after Chauncey is done but do we need a Chris Paul-type PG? No. Just someone who will orchestrate the offense, not turn the ball over too much, and play some on-ball defense.

Man I had to deal with this Cat in Philly for years!!! Fools Gold my friend... Don't Do It Knicks!!!! :smh:

I still think that we (the Knicks) should kind of look past CP3 and go for the cheaper lesser version that knows the system (if D'Antoni is still there)......in Felton.

I'll take CP3 tho. But the Knicks need a big man bad......hell first they need to resign Walsh, forget about everything else get that done, #1.

During his time in Philly, he's never been surrounded by the level of talent he'd be with the Knicks. So hopefully we'd luck out.
