First, an immediate disclaimer!! I am not a Knicks fan. However, as a 'basketball aficionado', I enjoy good basketball games relatively free of turmoil. The New York fans deserve it, as well as, those of us who love the game.
Knicks GM & president of basketball operations, Donnie Walsh made his first major personnel move going in the right direction by amassing a group of players that will compliment each others skills. In addition he's providing coach Mike D'Antoni with the type of players he needs to be successful, plus players who want to play for him. Yesterday and today, Walsh traded Jamal Crawford (G), Zack Randolph (C), and Mardy Collins (G). Enter Al Harington (F-Warriors), Cuttino Mobley (G-Clippers) & Tim Thomas (F-Clippers).
A good trade for all teams. Golden State rids itself of a player on the 'outs' with Don Nelson (deja Vu w/ Chris Webber); the Clippers get bigger underneath; and the Knicks get players more in the mold of what D'Antoni needs, plus much needed 'cap' space for the LeBron James sweepstakes in 2010.
The Pistons? We hope McDyess returns to strengthen our bench.
