Aldridge said he didn't want to play the 5 consistently. Don't blame him because that's a lot more wear and tear. Wonder if he would compromise if Durant would sign.
I'm talking about a legitimate 5 to go next to Aldridge. Aldridge has never wanted to play center on a regular basis. The Spurs need a rim protector.

They'd have to gut their team to make it happen. The core would stay (curry, green, thompson) but pretty much everyone else is out the door to create the needed cap space to sign Durant.
No Iguodala, no Bogut for sure, Barnes would have to kick rocks (huge upgrade in KD so bye Felicia), Speights, Barbosa, Rush all would get walking papers. Ezeli and Livingston could be out the door as well. They could go over the cap and keep their 2 free agents (Barnes and Ezeli) but Barnes seems super expendable with Durant in the fold.
They'd have one helluva starting 5 but past that what's left? I don't see the need in doing this to be honest. You just won 73 games with your team's current construction. If Steph is healthy, Bogut don't go down, and Green wasn't kicking people in they junk there's a STRONG possibility they are back to back champs.
