Kevin Durant: I thought championship would fill void, but it didn’t

Can't compare what Lebron did to what KD did, it's not even close.

Not sure how or why people compare Lebron and KD leaving teams as if it's remotely the same. :smh:

Some are mad, I'm not mad. I just call a spade a spade. He did what was best for his career and I'm not mad. He just can't walk around beating his cheat like he really did something.

Lebron and Bosh talked with Wade and they all decided to join Wade in Miami where Miami wasn't a good team at the time.

KD joined the best team in the league.

It wasn't the same.
The equivalent would be Lebron leaving the Cavs and joining the Celtics in 2010.
Celtics beat the Cavs and then lost in the Finals.
That's the only true equivalent, three players joining a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs isn't the same as joining a championship team that won the most games ever the year before KD got there.
KD joined a great team. Lebron took a pay cut to joint two other great players. And did it in the East. KD didn't team up with two other stars like Lebron did so he didn't do EXACTLY what he did. But let's don't pretend like Lebron didn't pull no hoe shit.

KD joined the best team in the league.

The Warriors were the best team until the finals and got beat by the Cavs the year before KD joined. Without KD, the Warriors would’ve lost to the Heats again last year. The Warriors needed a more consistent scorer to match Steph.

Empty feeling because it was an "empty" title.

I bet had he stayed in OKC and they won one, the feeling would have been different.

WTF did he think would happen, joining an already established team and riding them to a championship?
You must didn’t read the article. Durant was saying he is not happy with just one title. He is hungry for more

Yep. He has found himself in the same place Lebron was at when he was in Miami. You can't be a competitor and want to win having shit almost handed to you. You then did what you were suppose to do. He's missing out on that joy of defying the odds and winning when you not suppose to.
The title of the article was click bait. Durant was saying that he is just as hungry for more titles as he was for his first.

Imagine if back in the early 90s, we saw Patrick Ewing leave the Knicks to go play with the Bulls.

That is what it was to see KD leaving OKC for the Warriors.

Shit is wack....
Or Jordan joining the Celtics or Pistons.

So was he one of the best 4's or a top 10 player? Because those are two very different assertions. And i never called the guy a bum. But we arent gonna pretend he was a top 10 player at any point in his career.

Bosh was a top 20 player, which is not a knock on him...over 400 players in the L at one time.

He got a chance to win it this year without curry

Fact is he wasn’t winning shit with Westbrook and that’s facts

That's true.

Man gtfoh.. He was NEVER top ten... And if you have a problem with Amare making all NBA then you should be outraged that Al fuckin Hortford is a NBA all star.

Oh, and off top of my head... CP3, Paul Pierce, KG, Dwight, Nash... are missing. Again, Bosh was NEVER top 10. Its ok to admit this.

Maybe top 15, but certainly not below top 20.

He didn’t ride them but he didn’t fuck it up either. Too bad he can’t find that balance.

Next stop.

He's learning that he's got to play for himself, and be focused on that only. Tune out the negative.

So what was the alternative? Stay in Oklahoma and be a perennial loser year after year? That shit is better than what he did? Then he gets to hear the "You can't win shit" for his whole career like y'all put on other guys? He may need to fill a void but he would've been more hurt had he stayed in Oklahoma.

True.

Thats funny cuz Jordan, Bird, & Magic all wanted to play on a Super Team called the 92 Dream Team and brag about it being "the greatest team of all time". MJ teamed up with the Bad Boys Pistons in the mid 90s (Rodman, Salley, Buddha Edwards) when he couldnt get by Shaq & Horace Grant. The fact is Jordan, Bird, Magic, Zeke were employees that did what they were told and didnt have the power to make demands about who they wanted to play with. Niggas love revising the 90s to make coon niggas and niggas that raised faggots in they household seem tough.

STOP! Revisionist history here. Jordan had the power to keep Isaiah off the Dream Team.

Its always some late 30s 40 year old nigga tryna convince us our eyes are fooling us like we cant see that todays players shoot 40 times better than 90s niggas and are more skilled. They always overstating how "tough" players were to deflect from the fact they werent that skilled or gifted offensively. Sean Elliott (a real tough guy) was 1 of the best small forwards of the 90s, today he'd be Harrison Barnes.

Why clown Harrison Barnes? He's a pretty good player.

Bottom line, as I've said before, look at it like if it were one of us non-sports dudes. Durant went to the Warriors like one of us would go to a better paying job with more benefits. There would be some who would hate on a guy because he's got a better job, and he's making more money. Now, we would just sit back and say, "Oh well, sucks to be you," and keep on striving. Instead of ignoring what people are saying, Durant is listening to what everyone's saying, and it's getting to him. He's realizing that he needs to focus on getting another chip and say, "Fuck you" to the haters. 50 years from now, nobody's gonna care about the circumstances of how he got to the team, all they're gonna care about is how many rings he won.

All these fans saying LeBron winning with the Heat is a given, wonder what they gon say about KD if he dont win it this year or next playing with 3 other all stars. It damn sure aint a given he was gon lead the Warriors in all categories like a LeBron.

Which is a testament to how soft he could be. Anybody else pull that stunt on someone after losing to them 3 straight years it would permanently affect their legacy. Even with that Jordan was powerless as a player and regularly had to "threaten retirement" as his only leverage. He was so "powerful" he got the Bulls to give his boys Pippen and Phil mega deals and keep their team together. NOT! If he had that juice, Bulls wouldve stayed together.

Why clown Harrison Barnes? He's a pretty good player.

He's decent, like Elliott who was an all star in the 90s and one of the best. Just showing how far the talent level has come at the position. Barnes is considered a dissapointment and overpaid by most doing exactly what Sean did 20 years ago.

I dont have issue with KDs move. He had the right to go wherever he wanted. I just dont like the few LeBron haters/bottom feeder western Conference fans caping for KD when they was the main ones hating on Bron to Miami.

Have you updated Ublock lately? I did and it blocked all Twitter posts in here. I got rid of it and went back to AdBlock Plus

since at least friday a lot of stuff is not showing unless i disable my ublock. they being really aggressive

Probably the update hnic did
Turns out it was a Chrome update that hadn't been applied yet since I hadn't closed it out in a while. As soon as I applied the update, the content began to show again.

Westbrook is an idiot. If he adapted his game with Durant they could of been a great tandem. They got to the western conference finals though. Which is basically the real finals.

Cause he didn't earn that championship. Regardless of his MVP award. Just like Lebron's championships.

I agree to point...they still had to go out and play regardless of the circumstance. We watched Jordan become Air Jordan and and stuggle on the Bulls year after year and help build his team so our out look on current athletes today is diff. No one builds teams anymore they just match up great players together. If it works it works if not well we see what is going on now in all sports

Riding an established team to the championship says KD was an important piece to the puzzle. When the Warriors won the first championship, LeBron played exceptionally well without Love and Irving, and moreover, this was a GS team at full strength. When they lost the following year to the Cavs you could see GS was overmatched because Kylie matched Steph blow for blow and James outplayed Thompson. The Warriors needed another solid scorer perhaps maybe not the caliber of KD but they needed someone. Without that scorer we would probably be saying right now LeBron is the greatest because he beat mighty good regular season team that didn’t match up well with them in the finals.

Nobody's life is continually fufilled and happy. Shit sucks sometimes no matter who you are or what you have accomplished. Expecting yourself to feel a certain way just makes it worse. I'm surprised LeBron James hasn't figured that out by now.
