Part of running a team is managing potential problems. Moving players that "could" become a problem before they actually do is a one-way ticket to the NBA lottery. And that's where they're headed.

That wasn't the deal though.. Westbrook was reportedly part of the proposed deal. I'm sure the owner gave him a quick no on that. I think the Raptors were already over the cap before signing Kawhi...so adding another $50M plus the luxury tax on all of that would have likely put them over the cap by $100M. Most owners aren't with that.
