i don't know how true what he said about dave and his contract situation is. if it is true and it went down like that.. where he was supposed to get half and they offered 10%? then my respect grew even more for him. i just wish he would've sued they ass and took them to court for that money

He always talks in metaphors. Everything he said eye opening.
The point about Chapelle was in that Whitey (and lots of niggas)think of Africa like a backworld hidaway with savages and primatives that would welcome criminals, coke heads and anybody trying to hide from the world. Meanwhile Chapelle looked at it like a getaway, a preserve, and a place to reconnect with life. There are cities and planes and nice homes and lexus' and musicians. The jig was up, he knew where to run to.
Chapelle was blackballed. He on that list just like the hundred or so talented folks that players couldnt pimp and the powerbrokers took their source away. They used to brand cats communists but nowdays they just ruin you professionally.
The point of Bernie - without talking about Steve and DL and Ced and all the powers behind the scene - was in how he dealt with his players and worked the system for him. He didnt fold under pressure, he didnt hide behind a false persona and then he died. At the top of his game with no detractors to take him down, challenge him financially or kill his career for not playing ball their way.

I think Katt is a crazy cokehead and he's exaggerating Chappelle's experience to make people perceive his own craziness differently.
Chappelle definitely got a bad rap as far as drug rumors and talk about his sanity and he's spoken on that. Has Chappelle ever said he was blackballed? It looks to me like he stepped back and stepped right back up when he felt the time was right. I'm sure he could have gotten a show 5 years ago like he could five days from now.
I'm still not understanding-- Are you saying to bring up Steve, DL and Ced would have been to downtalk them? As sellouts or the powers that be themselves or people who hid behind false personas?

He was the FIRST to have big DVD sales of a COMEDY series being re-run constantly to release a DVD set of a show pretty much as soon as it ended and going into its second season...
NO ONE expected those sales I think those DVD sales records STILL stand and also it was the same way SNL got blind-sided by Lazy Sunday by Sandberg...

Dave said he was getting lured into a trap. His life and show were going into a certain direction that he didnt want to go to. So he pulled out before it was too late.
Now its about the execs not honoring the contract? And Dave couldnt sue? And we never heard Dave say anything about money not ONCE in his whole life???
Its not that what Katt is saying is implausible. Of course it is. But either he or Dave is lying.
