Why is it that today comedians resort to the "N" word to generate a laugh????

I don't understand how that could be funny.

Kat Williams have some good material but I'm getting so turn off by his "excessive" use of the "N" word.

Are we so lost that we patronise shit like this??????

you are being a little too sensitive right now. i can see the tears dropping on your keyboard. if you really want to know why comedians use the "n word" there was a good documentary on that. i think it was directed by ice cube.

typical response " man he gettin money, he's funny, i'm used to the word, let the niiiggga live its just comedy"

to answer your question yes we r lost well some of us are n dont really to be found sadly

Truthfully, I don't think the cat was using the n word for laughs. Judging by the way the "niggas" and "bitches" were flying out of his mouth, I think that's just his ignorant, every day language. He probably talks like that when he's at home with his fam.

Whether he uses the "N" word is not that important to me. For someone that tells jokes for a living, I don't think that he does that good of a job.

I don't know if its the fact that I just don't think he's funny or I just don't agree with his views...but he seems like ur generic black comedian to me.

What Maximus said.

Katt Williams is funny for shits and giggles ONLY! He even invented the word '******dom'. It's suppose mean where ever ******s exist I guess!

Ignorance is a cancer, whether 4 laughs or money!!! Not knowing who U really R, can substituted 4 anything!

With or without the N word, he's just not funny.

Who cares if he using nigga alot. I know some smart intelligent people that use nigga and cuss all the time. Does that mean that they are stupid.

I don't think you're hatin because when me and my boy watched it (age 22 and 23) we said the exact same thing. I think his excessive use of the word was disturbing to Black people (even Black people in the crowd) but to niggas it was just fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Sad but true. Excessive use of any word make a person sound ignorant.

But besides that dude just isn't really all that funny. Face it!

Many people are just that lost. Leroy Soup Nutz reference to Richard Pryor is no longer true because after Pryor returned from Africa he vowed never to use the N-word again during his routines. The over usage of the N-word and the excessive cursing is just filler for weak material.

I think Williams has the capability to be funny but his present act is wack. :hmm:

Thank you.

I thought I was tripping.

I would have even supported the brother buying a DVD etc but I can't buy that shit for my black friends, family neither my white acquaintances.

Then they want to know why it is so hard in their profession.:smh:

It's also no longer true because he is dead (R.I.P.) my point was that use (overuse) of the N-word in a comedy routine is not a "new" thing...or something that just occurred with today's comedians...

I don't understand why y'all even expected dude to be funny in the first place...I can't remember where I first saw him on TV but he was always a crumb...every inch of him screams bitch from his permed hair...to his rambling high-pitched "ghetto girl" voice...down to his name and the way it's spelled---"Katt"...

I'm sorry but he looks and sounds like a permed-up, gossiping bitch. I know he makes a point of talkin' about how much he like pussy, but to me he's really suspect.

Hell yeah- I bet he tells his kids"yall lil niggas hurry up"

Even though I agree with y'all on the language issue(which is an issue that I am having with black comedians in general), I found the brother funny. It seems that y'all have forgotten what comedy is for. It is an audience driven entertainment that generally reflects what is going on in our society. If he didn't make you laugh maybe you have not experienced what he has experienced. Stop trying to analyze everybody's blackness and manliness. Give it a rest. Comedians will not solve our problems, we will.

I'm pretty sure that it was Dave Chapelle that coined the phrase "ni**erdom"

I'm sorry but the word nigga has always been funny to me.

Because I know the true nature of the blackman and women it is like calling a lion a rabbit. To me it's a word so I never got into it's supposed magical abilities to destroy a race of people.

Thats probably what I cannot get past.

I watched him again last night and he is really not as bad as I stated in another post on here.

Any dude that looks like a woman from the back is suspect.....I don't buy it.

you all are missing the point ......his entire stage persona and his entire act are based upon being a dirt rascal pimp......i have seen him in interveiws and the man is very well versed in many areas of interest......its just an act....like redd fox or snoop dog......as for the use of the word ******.....his act and stage persona would not work with out it

With what you've described, "use of the word ******.....his act and stage persona would not work with out it" You just confirmed the point. If Williams is "very well versed in many areas of interest" as you've stated, then he should try to incorporate those qualities into his routine.

If the base of Williams on stage performances is based on his usage of the N-word in his act, he really has little to offer as an entertainer and has no stage persona. A comic with good material should be able to present his material to any type audience. What your saying is if her can't curse or use the N-word his material won't work. That's exactly why I said earlier, "The over usage of the N-word and the excessive cursing is just filler for weak material."

Do you see my point?

HE JUST AINT FUNNY......PERIOD
EXCEPT MAYBE IN A WEIRD KINDA WAY
WHERE YOU THINK TO YOURSELF.........DAMN :smh:

Do you not see the longterm consequences of giving this sort of thing a pass?

10-20 years from now, history will be re-written to say:

"negroes were also called ni99ers, which was a term of endearment. They even called themselves ni99ers and were generally treated well just like you would not mistreat pets. They still were able to assimilate to the slavemaster's customs without force, without harsh treatment."

Think about it.............

It's an easy formula. To appeal to not so smart black folks you have to swear a lot, talk loud and basicly act like Amos & Andy. Notice why Martin's show was successful with black folks.

I watch this comedy show on Showtime called White Boys in the Hood. I think that's the name of it. I noticed this one white comedian said some jokes that were funny and a few black people laughed. He used some big words that's why they didn't catch on. He eventually had to break it down a little more for the audience to catch on. I'm pretty sure this dude probably think the black people were slow.

Well if he could come to that conclusion from the reaction of a few blacks then he is the slow one, so no biggie there............and who cares what he thinks anyway. Is he now in charge of directing the divine path for blacks?
So whatever.

What is funny is that we black people think that a large majority of blacks are dumb and ignorant then on the flip side we defend those accusations.

We embrace that thinking when putting out bullshit disguised as art, music, comedy etc....
Then defend it when it comes to science, technology etc....

Dell doesn't depend on swearing and using the "N" word to sell computers and black people buy that shit in bulk.

Why then do artist feel they have to swear and say the "N" word incessantly to sell a $40 ticket????
