Kareem Was A Bad MF!

Great picture. Never seen by me.

Straight up, Jabbar would probably be my number one all time pick.

In Larry Bird's autobiography he says Kent Benson was the reason why he left IU... He also said that whenever he played against Benson, he made it his business to light his ass up...and its no wonder that Detroit got much better once they got rid of him and Kelly Tripuca...

Straight outta Harlem!

Former Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown presides over a meeting June 4, 1967. Those present are: (front row) Bill Russell, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar); (back row) Cleveland, Ohio Mayor, Carl Stokes, future NFL Hall of Famer Defensive back, Walter Beach, future NFL Hall of Famer Halfback Bobby Mitchell, AFL and NFL Linebacker and future husband of US Congresswoman Maxine Waters Sid Williams, Super bowl Champion Halfback Curtis McClinton who later became a Harvard trained banker and served as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development in Washington, D.C. and entrepreneur, future NFL Hall of Famer and 2 time Superbowl champion Willie Davis, the late NFL and AFL Defensive back Jim Shorter and NFL and AFL Guard John Wooten. Yes, Greatness!

The brother should be considered one of the goats if not thee goat (yeah I said that shit).

This man was the reason dunking got banned in NCAA games. I noticed he's been getting some shine lately and I am glad to see it. Respect is due. Especially men like Kareem are still breathing.

1) Bill Russell
2) Kareem
3) Chamberlain
4) Michael Jordan

Dr. J for his innovation of the game.

Why no other 7 footer ever tried to emulate Kareems magnificent unstoppable sky hook is a mystery to me! I thought Andrew Bynam was going there but he flamed out.

If he played nice with the media, he'd probably be considered the GOAT. Ninjas underestimate the power the media has in shaping opinion. Kareem's career from HS through retirement is unparalleled. He had 6 rings before that became the magic number that everyone had to chase ... Again, the media shapes opinion. Kareem gets no respect... Excelled on and off the court. He chose conscience over commerce.

You could put Russell there seeing as how he won 17 out of 21 possible titles in his life. Barely knows what an L is. People hold it against him because of the time he played in, but that isn't his fault... Somebody had to take those rings

man most people who kno bball put him top 3 of greatest centers.. it's usually wilt, reem, and hakeem in that discussion .. only people who like bring in that ring talk even consider russel(he's not on their level)... everybody kno reem all time scoring leader, everybody kno that hook was unstoppable... if there was no such thing as wilt and hakeem it would easily be noted that kareem was the best center ever.. but because of wilt dominance and hakeem all around game and blocking ability it's always iffy on whose the best at that position

slightly before my time...but i heard the brotha lost only like two times...from grade school through college...

Oh please. I wish you clowns would stop saying Bill Russel. Him and Chamberlain were the only black players back then. There was absolutely zero competition.

If bill Russell was 22 years old today in todays league, he’d be average at best

Ya think?

everybody kno reem all time scoring leader

Ask around... You'll be surprised by the number of fools who believe it's MJ. It's been corrected on this very board more than once.

When the discussion of GOAT comes up, oftentimes Kareem is an afterthought and that is absurd. His resume speaks for itself... And it should include the finals MVP they gave to Magic in his rookie year. That series was dominated my Kareem. But I will say, all things considered (19/20 yr old rookie, on the road, facing an idol/vet in Dr. J, playing all 5 positions...), that game 6 is the greatest finals performance by a player.

Cap>>>>>

Met him a couple of times. Brother is a class act. He just didn't like the media all in his shit and people took his introversion as aloofness.

Now he can actually sit back and enjoy the spotlight. They just hated him cause he was the best, Muslim and black.

people will say mj is goat at his position.. some people will say mj is top 5 of alltime in any position... some will say mj is the best.. the first 2 can easily be agreed on the last part up for discussion.. could you go wrong with picking either or to build your team with the answer is no.. if you say name your top 5 or top 10 all time both players would easily be in the discussion
