1a. Late Registration
1b. College Dropout
2. My Beautiful Dark Fantasy
3. Graduation

But this is one of my all-time favorite Kanye joints

Graduation was his best for me because that was before he started to experiment with his sound.

Don't mind the experimentation too much but it can be hit or miss.

That's the difference between music as an art and music as a business.

College dropout the skits on that album were so REAL!!!! in fact you can play that album for any College student we could relate to what kanye was talking about i could not relate to niggas slanging drugs and shit because i was exposed to that....i was like man i could actually listen to a rap album that i can 100% relate to...during that time I was working in school stuggling making 6.50 an hour...my friends that dropped out were making more money..:lol:they were like nigga this is u...kanye is talking about...

1.College dropout
2. Late Registration
3. Dark Fantasy
4.graduation
5..808 and heart break

Graduation is an exceptional album. Totally Excellent.

Graduation got my vote, but Ye has several classics. IMHO Graduation, Late Registration, & MBDTF all count in that number with the other records being very nice innovative efforts.

i actually think MDTF was his weakest work to date behind 808s. People loved the production but I thought it was sub par for Ye. My two cents no hate.

Graduation, it was between that and LR.

Late Registration was probably his most complete album, but I liked the quality of the songs on Graduation better. So it's more of a quality vs. quantity thing to me.

its kinda hard to choose wit Kanye...but i d wit Late Graduation

I gotta roll with college dropout, I still bump that shit pretty often....graduation is second tho.

Funny, the skits are what I HATED about that album. I had to remove them from my iPod version to enjoy that album.

My non-college friends used to say the same about me, too. Similar situation, and fast forward to now, they're still making $15/hour while I'm FAR beyond that....

I picked 808's because the nigga took a chance by going completely left of what he was known for and made that shit work. A lot of cats don't fuck with that album for whatever reason, but he really showed his musical capabilities with the album. When his career is said and done, and our great grandchildren are the custodians of dope music, I think this album will be the one that they point to as the best in his catalog.

Genius.

Late Registration with College Dropout being a closed second. "Dark" Kanye is decent but dude fell off once he "graduated".

And the other 115+ people that voted in this poll

The posters on BGOL fall into a few categories: Old heads who won't give anything made after '98 a chance, Hip-Hop & R&B fans who've never listened to any other genre of music, Hip-Hop fans who place TMZ content over the actual music, and cats who listen to all types of music and respect music quality over any other bullshit that others try and throw in the discussion.

While my pick may not be the popular one now, like I said, when it's all said and done, I feel the 808's album will be in the discussion of his best albums due to the chances that he took on that album (this is not taking into consideration what he may do in the future). If someone would've took a poll in 1970 on the best Miles Davis album, jazz fans would've tar and feathered anyone who said Bitches Brew was his best album and the overall choice would've probably been Kind of Blue. In 2011, both albums compete for the title of Miles best album, even though they are light years apart as far as the sound of those records are concerned. That analogy probably went over your head, but expand your musical palate, and you'll get it in a few years.

Its a close cal between College Dropout and Late Registration but I'll say College Dropout.

It came out right around the time I was finishing college and the song "Spaceship" hit home... I was on the grind trying to find a gig and make it out of working retail and bumped this song daily for about a year.

Like others said it was the first time I could fully relate to a rap album..
