Kanye West Compares Himself To The Main Character In ’12 Years A Slave’

If it's worded like that, I can accept it too. In the land of Lil Wayne, Two Chains, Nicka Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, and Drake... Kayne looks like a genius. Alright, I can go for that.
jwill, we giving you an out fam. Take it and end this nonsense.

I'm just commenting on his body of work. I'm not commenting on if he looks good.
You might as well with some of the outlandish commentary you are making and how you overrate and value the guy while appearing to dam near worship the ground he walks on. You said you couldnt imagine a world without him for fucks sake! :smh:

I see where and why you're so confused. You're using a lot of terms you don't appear to understand the meaning of. Passive aggressive, strawman, and exploitation. For purposes of this discussion I will only address exploitation in hopes of assisting you in finally understanding why its use is inapplicable and insulting in this context and conversation. And should therefore never be used as a descriptor to Kanyes relationship with corporation and certainly not as justification for use of a slavery parallel or analogy.

As you stated, there are two forms of exploitation. One dealing with use without proper compensation or acknowledgment and the other dealing with exhausting or depleting a thing. Kanye was a paid shill, he volunteered his services for compensation and both parties benefited. No exploitation there. You cannot say they both used one another and it was mutually beneficial and still label it as exploitation. That's a direct contradiction of terms and idiocy personified.

Now for the second meaning of exploitation which you have used about three times now... It refers to ones depletion of a resource or thing. How in THEE fuck does that remotely apply here? Again, you are using words you don't understand and as a result are making a complete fool of yourself to anyone bothering to read the nonsense you're typing. I actually ignored it the first time you said it because I was embarrassed for you but since you insist on referencing that definition then I will show you that it has no place in this context.

No wonder you guys think Kanye is a fucking genius. Because compared to you morons he actually is. :smh:

And again, NONE of this shit is like slavery in any aspect. Stop trying to validate bullshit logic with bullshit rhetoric.

 You are hilarious. It's obvious you all in your feelings about this topics I don't know why.

It sounds more like you are trying to convince yourself I don't know those terms more than you recognize them yourself.

What are you trying to talk me out of this discussion or something.

I'm going to put this out here again because this whole thing is bordering on the line of remedial with you. And Im tired of repeating myself. This is the definitions I gave of exploitation earlier in this thread in terms of Kanye relationship with the corporations. Your refusal to accept it is the fault of your own misunderstanding.

ex·ploi·ta·tion
noun
2.
the action of making use of and benefiting from resources. "the Bronze Age saw exploitation of gold deposits"

Read it carefully and slowly for understanding, it says nothing of depletion.

I made a distinction based on the definition why the exploitation in slavery was different from this situation but is still a form of exploitation but not to the extent Kanye is referring to.

Further, yes Kanye is a shill. And You agreed with me when said this:

"Kanye was a paid shill, he volunteered his services for compensation and both parties benefited. No exploitation there. You cannot say they both used one another and it was mutually beneficial and still label it as exploitation. That's a direct contradiction of terms and idiocy personified."

Kanye "USED" them for compensation and they "USED" him to sell their product. Why the fuck is that so hard for you to understand?

Now look back up at the definition nigga. Slowly but surely you are coming around.

And I ain't never said Kanye was a fucking genius so don't put words in my mouth mutha fucka.

Like I said earlier what he is saying is outrageous but in can see why he feels the way he do.

The definition still applies. Admit it and get over it.

Rhetoric or not I'm right. That shit is valid.

Wont quote entire post because its light on substance and heavy on emoticons and back pedaling. But I will again address your usage of this definition of the word "exploitation", and again point out how big of an imbecile you are for insisting on using it in the context of a rapper using a slavery analogy for his relationship with corporate sponsors. Hey dumbass, resources isn't metaphorical here. Its literal. How the fuck has Kanye been used as a resource you fucking imbecile. Again, you're using terms you don't understand. Please refrain from making an ass out of yourself.

The point remains, there was NO exploitation present and there is NO aspect of any of this shit remotely similar to or akin to slavery.

Mello, you cant be this stupid. You just cant be. :smh:

Dude insulting me doesn't make you any more right. Anyone with just a bit of understanding can see what I was saying. But in your knee jerk reaction and visceral response to Kanye statements you fail to discern that shit.

Do you hold a grudge against Kanye for some reason? His music, because he married Kim K, his life his riches and or his antics in the media that prevents you from viewing anything he says objectively?

Continuing to cut and paste dictionary quotes only further substantiates your lack of understanding and context. At this point you have literally posted the exact same response over 5 times while ignoring the countless posts articulating why you are misappropriating terms. At some point you have to be big enough and smart enough to take a step back, remove yourself from the exchange and see just how ridiculous you appear. I mean that sincerely. This has become a waste of time, so if you maintain that he has been exploited, that his exploitation has been in either form mentioned above, and that his predicament resembles some aspects of slavery, then sobeit. I can no longer debate ignorance. Feel free to have the last word.

People might dismiss what he's saying as insane but there is some truth in what he's saying. It might not be slavery in its totality but some aspects of it can be comparable.

He definitely knows he's being exploited that's the cause for his angst. Rich as he may be he still recognizes that he himself a rich black man can be exploited for profit just like slaves were during slavery. He wants to be apart of the wider creative process not just a name and face marketing tool for these brands. Many of these brands probably wouldn't be shit without a lot of these feee rapper co-signs. Too many brands have been kept alive from black promotion and black dollars. This is why rappers need to stop singing these brands and start creating their own keep it and grow it.

I agree to a degree. As much as I dislike Kanye he's dead on about the exploitation that exists. However, comparing your situation to the main character in 12 years will not engender sympathy. However much you're exploited it pails in comparison to someone who's very life is spent being exploited without concern for health; let alone wealth.

Your projecting bruh. And you should take your own advice. I will leave you with your bad understanding as I've made my case for exploitation and no other aspect. The only ignorance you were fighting here was your own stubbornness to acknowledge the distinctions made.

That's all I'm saying. :dunno: Why Amajorfucup don't get that?

To say you are just like the character in 12 years a slave is egregious and insulting. In this case Kanye has a choice.

I am weary of anyone saying its the same today as it was during slavery because it ignores the plight of our ancestors and the choices they enabled to us today. And if their is any lesson we should take from their experience, it should be the cost of powerlessness and to never let it happen again. For Kanye to act like he is powerless to do anything is a spit in the face to the ancestors especially as a rich ass superstar black man.
