Just Saw For Colored Girls....

Exactly.

The man got ol' girl pregnant. Nothing about her choices.

The man fucked around on ol' girl. Nothing about her allowing him to do it and come back time and time again.

The man was crazy and beat on her and killed her kids. Nothing about how she maybe should have left him?

The man gave her HIV. Nothing about how she didn't act on her suspicion until it was too late.

I get what the movie was trying to do. Trying to show strength but the message left me feeling fucked up for the women in it. Be strong while you getting fucked over cause you are woman hear you roar! :smh:

That's what I got out of it.

Strength is useless without intellect or purpose. Women endure and move on, this is what they've been taught for the most part. They aren't taught to excel, exceed. And NONE of these movies EVER show that.

Bullshit. Because women didn't like it either. My point is this is not a positive movie about black women at all. What lessons were learned? If you see your man looking at other men he gay? Don't invite men into your home that you are cool with or you might get raped? If you have a baby through your own actions getting an illegal abortion is cool as long as you take someone with you?

Come on man. I'm saying we are talking about a black movie here. A grand stage. He is probably going to win awards for this because people are too scared of the production of it to say different but I stand by what I said. When are we going to get some positive MALE role models out of this man's movies? Seriously?

Seems like you need to go write a screenplay. Just because this film wasn't what you would like to see doesn't mean it is irrelevant.

Also this movie was created in the 70's and this remake is pretty loyal to the original.

Sure there are positive stories and role models all over the country. that was true then as it is now.
all over.

You want to look at everything twisted such as;

But there are also a lot of dysfunctional brothers and sistas

You want to look at everything twisted such as;

Be careful young sista,just because you think you are cool with a man or think he is a cool brotha do you really know him.

See in the flick it wasn't established that they had a history. He was saying and doing what she wanted to hear and he had an agenda.

Well I have 4 daughters and none of them would fall for that I hope.

If you see your man looking at other men he gay?

Be very aware and protect yourself. Listen to your head and not your heart. There are many many women who are now HIV positive because they went with them homo thug downlow mofokrs. Don't act like this isn't a problem. Heterosexual non drug using women are one of the biggest demographic of new HIV cases/

If you have a baby through your own actions getting an illegal abortion is cool as long as you take someone with you?

First there are consequences to spur of the moment bullshit like prom night and peer pressure. and you may not get the support needed especially if you come from a fanatical religious family.
Had she had a healthy relationship with her mother or her sister she would not have been in a back alley abortion situation.. That dysfunction affects more than meets the eye and can be generational.

Its also a slick poke at the misinformed because if you let the republicans take over then this is what our children will face like they did in the past.You may be to young to know this but people of color had back alley abortiuons while the white and well off folx daughters went to spen the summer with the aunt out of town.

OK OK OK. You didn't like the movie because .....

I doesn't matter. It shows black people struggling to deal with life. The stories in the movie could be the story of someone you know. If you want to know where the message of the movie is, then here is another one I will share with you:
This is your life on crack. If you see situations developing in your life that look like it might lead down to that road then do something about it or go down that road.
Message to the young girls is there. Lots of things in there a mother or father could discuss with his teenage daughter. It's stuff that parents are always trying to shield their kids from. Him showing it in the face put it in a more realistic perspective. It shows how it could happen.

don't waste your breath (font) :smh: I feel like a lot of people will pick at ANYTHING with Tyler Perry's name on it--even if he is just a director or producer.
