I just graduated from college out here in Atlanta at Clark Atlanta University, and i been on the job hunt for like 2 months and havn't really had any luck. Most people I know with good jobs, or comfortable jobs said they got it because they knew someone there. Well I know this is the networking board, so I was wondering if there are any Brothers out here that work at Verizon, At&t, Coca Cola, or companies alike that could get me in the doors. My degree was in Marketing. Any help would be appreciated.

preciate the links... But I been to all those sites and appiled directly. I even had an interview with AT&T and im waiting to hear back from them. I just know it would be easier if there was someone in the inside that worked at one of those places that could at least get me an interview.

You need to go, You will get a job. I joined because I got my mba back in 2000 but I've sent my people to the conference and they all got good jobs.
It's worth it, trust. Make sure your resume is tight and print lots of copies.

Dude to be honest you are going to have to get out and NETWORK. Don't expect from people that do not know you personally.
Did you have any internships in college?
If you are trying to network start with the organizations you belong to. What about your church? what about civic organizations that you belong to?
Having a bachelors in marketing is going to be tough for you to land that 1st GOOD job. Entry level marketing jobs are really just administrative assistants or low level sales people. When employers are reading resumes to hire for positions really ANY degree including marketing can compete for the jobs that you are applying to.
So network around the city. Go to job fairs. Accept the fact that you may have to take a position that YOU DO NOT WANT in order to get your foot in the door of a company. If you get an offer for a job that makes more than $35K/year starting out... CONGRATULATIONS.

You should apply for a job with the Federal govt. If you score high enough on the test all you need is for someone to pull your app and hire you. Do a quick review of people you know who work for the govt, ask them if there are any openings in their dept and to pull your app if it shows up. Apply at usajobs.opm.gov
