You guys are both right, but I'm going to lean towards with Forcesteeler). Yes, to many with the Pound and the Euro the exchange rates are always cheaper, so they can afford to spend more but there are a few factors to consider as well:

1. The Euros take vacation for long periods of time, whereas Americans are only there for long weekends or quick holidays. The Europeans don't spend as much each night because the chics realize that when a German guy shows up, he's going to be there for well over a month or two, whereas the American is going for a long weekend.

2. All foreigners raise the prices of these chics. If you go to the local Dominican whorehouses, these chics are still fucking for around 300-500 pesos.

3. Because DR is close to America and can be reached with a relatively small amount of time and money, you get a different type of traveller to DR. People who rarely travel (for various reasons). To be honest, I have NEVER, I mean NEVER seen Euros throwing money in the air in the tourist clubs. I rarely see the Europeans buying bottles in the tourist whore clubs (why buy bottles in a whore club)...

4. In relation to #1, many Europeans have long term housing arangements/properties there... The women know that.

5. Something no one has mentioned. Skin color. The Europeans generally prefer the darker skin Dominicans/Haitians to the light skin/long hair women generally preferred by many Americans (both black and white Americans). The Haitians you will come into contact with are generally more educated than the Dominicans (more schooling, language skills). Haitian women are smarter and play a long game with the Europeans... Colombia is a big place... Most people just know Medellin and Cartagena... Same with Brazil (Rio, Sao Paolo, and Salvador to a lesser extent)... There are a ton of other places but language barriers and unfriendly tourist areas are barriers to entry--PERFECT!

There was a dream that WAS DR... Now the guys that were going to retire there in the early 2000s are looking for greener undiscovered, less accessible pastures...
