House Democratic leadership is growing increasingly vocal in accusing Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) of refusing to swear in their newest member in order to delay a vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Why it matters: Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) would be the 218th signature on a discharge petition that would force a vote on the matter. But she has to be sworn in first.

Grijalva was elected in a landslide last Tuesday in the race to succeed her father, Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), in Congress.

The bronze-colored figures — shown holding hands and each with one leg lifted in the air — were first installed last week but removed by U.S. Park Police on Sept. 24. The statue, titled “Best Friends Forever,” includes a plaque that reads: “In honor of friendship month, we celebrate the long-standing bond between President Donald J. Trump and his closest friend Jeffrey Epstein.”

The National Park Service did not respond to a request for comment because of the government shutdown that started Wednesday. The White House and the Interior Department, which oversees the park service, also did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

White House deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson, in a statement last week, dismissed the installation.

“Liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit — but it’s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep,” she said. “Democrats, the media, and the organization that’s wasting their money on this statue knew about Epstein and his victims for years and did nothing to help them while President Trump was calling for transparency, and is now delivering on it with thousands of pages of documents.”…

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, breaking with the FBI and the Department of Justice, says he believes high-profile associates of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein participated in his behavior -- and that Epstein may have blackmailed them with incriminating videos.

Asked by the New York Post's Miranda Divine on Wednesday's Pod Force One podcast whether high-profile associates of Epstein knew of his behavior and just ignored it, Lutnick said he believes, "No, they participated. They participated That's what his M.O. was -- 'Get a massage, get a massage.'"

"And what happened in that massage room, I assume, was on video," Lutnick said. "This guy was the greatest blackmailer ever."

Lutnick, Epstein's former neighbor, said he believes Epstein may have traded alleged blackmail videos for a lesser prison sentence in the so-called "sweetheart deal" he received during his first criminal case on state charges in 2008.

"I assume, way back when, they traded those videos in exchange for him getting that 18-month sentence, which allowed him to have visits and be out of jail. I mean, he's a serial sex offender. How could he get 18 months and be able to go to his office during the day and have visitors and stuff? There must have been a trade."

The allegations stand in contrast with what FBI Director Kash Patel told Congress during testimony last month.

Ask by Sen. John Kennedy who, if anyone, did Epstein traffic young women to besides himself, Patel replied, "Himself. There is no credible information. None. If there were, I would bring the case yesterday that he trafficked to other individuals."…

Nobody's Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice will contain disturbing new details about her time with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and their many well-known friends, including Andrew.

Ms Giuffre alleged that she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times and settled with the royal prince outside of court on February 15 2022, for a reported £12million. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.

Ms Giuffre took her own life on April 25 aged 41 and her memoir is set to heap further pressure on Andrew who was this week forced to relinquish his Dukedom to avoid inflicting further damage on the Royal Family.

In the book, she claims she had sex with Andrew for a third time on Epstein's 72-acre island, Little Saint James, which the paedophile nicknamed 'Little Saint Jeff's.'

In an extract published by The Guardian, Ms Giuffre says: 'I also know that it was not just the two of us this time; it was an orgy.'

She claims she was 18 at the time, adding: 'Epstein, Andy, and approximately eight other young girls and I had sex together. The other girls all appeared to be under the age of 18 and didn't really speak English.
