I'll never understand this system of Child support. $5000/month from him?Look, I understand that he laid up with her, had 2 kids with her, and makes whatever he makes as a "megastar", so I do not think he should be let off without having to contribute anything. What always comes to my mind when I hear these types of stories is, what is SHE doing for herself and her kids? Is she working, or was the $3000/month not enough because she was spending most of it on herself?
It's set up as a percentage of his earnings. How he lives is how his children should live. That's the law. It's not an arbitrary....viewpoint.
If guys want more visitation to = the amount they pay they would get it.
Truth is....raising kids is hard work and most guys don't want to really put in the time with their kids.
I suspect most of you bitching about the amount would be those dads.
I have 5 kids with my wife of 22 years. She fell ill 10 years ago that limited her life significantly which forced me into a single parent like role. It's hard work and puts your life on hold until they are all 15+ in age.
If I was separated from my family I wouldn't want her working if I could provide it all financially. At least one should be a stay at home parent.

Beat me to it. I'm usually in the "That's fucked up!" camp when it comes to these things but:
1) 5K a month is not bad for someone of TI's income and how little custody he has. My daughter goes to private school and all together I would be paying over 2K for one child.This is with 50/50 custody. With the custody that TI has and without Private school,I'd be paying 1500/month.
2.) He should be fighting for more custody. Granted, he probably had the kids prior to his career or while it was taking off and needed to tour.That said, he should be fighting to increase his percentage of custody so all of his kids can be together and he can be a bigger influence on their lives.

You can see your child anytime you wish. Visitation mean that during that time you become the providing parent. A child can't live in two households and would be silly to keep going back and forth. So you simply agree to a time when you will keep them. Meaning stay with you.

Yeah you right. I know a dude that works for metro system in DC and pays $1600 a month for his daughter.
Another partner of mines pays $900 for his daughter that lives in NC. That's basically a mortgage payment.
