Judge Joe: Tyler Perry's Role as Madea Is Bad for Our Community

there are so many more important things that our time could be dedicated to than tyler perry wearing a dress
Tyler Perry is a fag and Joe is a saucy old man that is fun to be around when he is on that wave.
The CACs that i work with just discovered his movies in the past year or so and they think its hilarious. I'm pretty sure it's because they envision it's how "we" are in our own homes.
Many people who actually know Joe Brown in real life don't seem to like him AT ALL. They say he's an everyday nasty drunk with no filter and that has caused him to burn bridges throughout Hollywood and Memphis. Last year Joe ran for Shelby County (Memphis) District Attorney in a 70% Black area and lost to a white female rumored lesbian Republican by 65% to 35%.

i just moved to memphis but in my small time here i would hypothesize that 80% of that 70% don't vote. the culture here is so different than other cities i have lived in.

many of the people i run into here, especially young cats, just don't give a fuck. it is rare for me to find community minded people here. i actually live in the rural areas and it is the same there. most of them only think about what is happening that day or what their next meal is.
when i go into the city or more urbanized areas many black people just don't care. my girl's fam is well connected in the area and the back stabbing and crab in a barrel politics are ridiculous. it is not uncommon for a white person to take an elected seat in predominately black area for three reasons.
1. black people around here don't give a fuck.
2. it is some lazy ass motherfuckers here. they don't do shit.
3. it is very common for two black candidates to split the black vote and thus an outsider gets elected. i saw this with my own eyes a few years ago with my girl's fam that was running for an elected office.
with all of that said i would love for some memphis folk to point me in the right direction where i can find some active progressive minded black people in memphis. cause both my girl and i have not and we both work corporate gigs.

Perry had one movie that I approved of which features Idris Elba. It painted Black men in a positive light; however , it made the least amount of money.

tyler perry was a dude that found his niche doin them comedic plays in that circuit..he was suppose to be a 1 trick pony with the madea series and somehow got offered way more opportunities than he prob ever thought and could possibly handle...his situation is pretty much a person that was able to do only 1 job and yet somehow he was asked to do many other jobs that was not part of his skillset..simply he is overwhelmed especially that he was juss trying to make ends meet with his plays originally
