Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Juan Diaz Who You Got? Free Live Stream 10PM Eastern

That would be an interesting fight as both are chess players.

Gotta give the edge to PBF, but I seriously doubt he will break anything on JMM, though PBF may break his hand.

isnt pbf alot bigger than jmm? or am i trippin?
shane was towerin over diaz in there
 at glass hand comment

Didn't go through all the comments to see if somebody if said BOXING WAS DEAD.

Though It's clear to admit that Diaz can't handle bloodspray on his own face compared to the sight of gaining a college degree, Fuck those who think this MMA shit is taking over the Sweet Science.

Another fight-of-the-year candiate in the polls.

bruh body fat is body fat - diet is diet and fulltime college student is fulltime college student
its a testimony to him and other guys with lesser conditioning who can fight at that elite level but dude has not pushed his body to the limit conditioning wise
even if dude had more gas coulda ended the same way
im just sayin marquez couldnt handle being pressured like that early on and diaz couldnt keep it up
dude looks soft to the body period

No disrespect Makk but your way off on this conditioning shit. There are plenty of fighters who look out of shape, and are rarely cut, who have the best stamina in the game.

What happened in this fight is that, although it appeared Diaz was doing his thing in the early rounds, Marquez was actually landing the cleaner and harder shots, which eventually took there toll.

BTW, to anyone who referenced Harold Ledermans scorecard, never pay attention to Lederman in fights like this. Actually, you have to take most of his scores with a grain of salt. He favors aggressors, and even if, in a fight like this for example, the guy who is backing up is actually doing more damage, he will always pick the guy who is coming forward and is too biased towards that style.

Dunno...Marquez is on another level with these other fighters in the game...To me he's almost a boxing purist's dream: A guy who can take flurries and adjust to make a comeback...

And I agree with voodoo...He beat Pac in both those fights...
thats what the greats do- hit a deadend and be able to think enuf to switch up- or to actually listen to their corner
lotta great athletes cant remember plan b when blood is gushin and their ribs are screamin

On the real I caught this fight on round 8 and was able to tell that it was off the hook...Tough for me to see how MMA could surpass this any time soon...

im graspin at straws on it
but there are plenty of elite athletes who are champs without pushing their bodies to the limit - that doesnt mean they couldnt improve
he was gettin marquez bruh - he doesnt have great power but the number of shots was gettin with marquez - listen to marquez post fight again - he was gettin his ass kicked for a lil while

I saw some body shots and counters but Diaz won those early rounds. That wasnt light flurries that cut marquez or had him on the ropes taking shots.
Marquez didnt really start doing damage until round 4 and up if im remembering it right

Juan Manuel Marquez all day. Juan Diaz is perfect for JMM to have a great fight. This shit will be a banger though, both of these cats are boys who will throw, no technical fight off the ropes shit, this will be fought and won in the middle of the ring.

Oh by the way ^^^^^^^^ Im on a roll this year so far with my predictions:dance:

This is a fight of the year candidate no doubt, but I still at this point may have to give a very slight edge to the Shane/Margarito match simply because where Margarito was considered to be and the way Shane just dismantled him, but I could see this one too.

Yeah you can always improve in boxing no doubt.

I think he really just has to improve his defense, because he ate way too many shots while he was throwing, and actually taking more than he was landing.

He just needs things that will come with experience IMO, he has the tools but actually going through shit greatly improves your skills. This fight, as long as it doesnt affect him mentally, will help him in the long run. Every loss is a blueprint for success if followed.

some nbc comedies are funny too - have u watched the office or 30rock?

cmon do i remember larry holmes?
james toney too

im just sayin - the body is a machine and for lightweight his cellular respiration and muscle density and all that shit might be maxed out with his high body fat but I doubt it

when is kirkland fighting

Not directed at u but a a poster commenting on body fat.

J Kirkland fights next saturday. He's put in much tougher compared to the other 2 fighter who GBP owns.

I like Kirkland but Julio is a hard hitter who uses angles and has gone rounds, even if he lost his last fight by decision.

Nah, Never seen the Office or 30Rock. Mostly been watching PBS lately and the Nature shows.

word...that's why I favor fighters like him and B-Hop and Toney...They know how to slip punches and when to hit...Marquez caught Diaz numerous times in the 8th with counters that threw off his momentum...esp, when he staggered him near the end of the round...

Man I hate that shit from him...I haven't taken him seriously for at least 5 years...

I mean I see where you are going w/ this. He's a college student boxing at the world class level. No doubt that doing both is draining, but he's been doing this lifestyle for years. The thing is Juan Diaz looked really good tonight & would have won if it were anyone else. However, he went up against a future HOFer. You can't steamroll the Hopkins, Mosleys, Marquez, etc. Special fighters

MMA is nowhere near boxing so I agree it wont pass anytime soon.

Also MMA doesn't have the competition level between promoters that boxing has, so it appears that the sport is loaded when in reality its just one promotion controlling everything.

MMA will truly be tested when more legitimate competitors come to give Dana White and his promotion a run for his money, when you don't have every known fighter under your control and have to scramble to still make competitive fights.

yeah prefight. I've been watching him for years & noticed his speech has gotten a lil slower.
he needs to fuckin retire then

they should mandatory cat scan/mri all fighters before and 4 weeks after a fight and if the shit is off afterward ban them for life

I cant see going to college hurting him.

You have to really put it in perspective, most professional athletes are in the gym and then partying all the time, drinking, etc. and they still manage to perform at a high level.

Considering him being in college and fighting at this level I doubt he has the time to really party like that, so it may be helping him actually.

Catch the replay tomorrow OR if one of the fam up's the fight soon.

Diaz DEFINETLY was working Marquez in the early rounds. Had him hurt in Round 2 or 3. Forgot what round it was because Diaz looked so good against him in the early going. (Pac mostly caught him with flash knockdowns)

You gotta remember he's 25 yrs old. Maybe it was cool in the beginning, but when your in that mufucka too long, it becomes nothing but stress & a headache. No doubt he's tired of it.

yeah his defense is suspect but could he improve that and not diminish his overall style? prolly
if dude is really gettin brain damage then he just needs to quit

bruh :hmm:
30 rock is funny as hell
the office is funny as hell

i think ive seen kirkland once and he had no d at all

Bhop is a fuckin hof boxing surgeon - those losses to jt were draws and i think if he rematched him now he'd ko him
toney is my favorite fighter to watch- to see him standing inches away totally untouchable is fuckin beautiful

see that 8th was the thing for me - marquez was coasting the whole round while diaz went off- looked like he was saving up for the final rounds and an end of round steal-flurry and he just had way too much for diaz.
dissected him

at the top of a sport lotta times its fractions of degrees of difference that make the difference
no doubt diaz might have actually had top notch unsurpassable everything and still just got destroyed
one things the greats have (not just great athletes with good talent like rjj) is the ability to take punishment
i havent seen diaz take punishment and keep at it

forgve me if im talkin nuts tonight im tired as fuck
couldnt remember james toney's name  had to google "fat boxer with white chick mgr who rjj ko'd" just kiddin - did have to look it up though

true words spoken

Basically the main thing that separates boxing from MMA right now...Nothing is coming close to what Dana White has in that area...so it is limited in its selection of great fighters and fights. Right now in boxing you have up to 8 fights or more in a year that you could trace back to as a great fight.

I'll be on the lookout for the replay...I agree that JMM got hit with flash knockdowns by Pac, so he was mostly getting caught off guard.

Don't be surprised if there is a 3rd fight between JMM and Pac by the end of the year (if Pac and Cotto don't work a deal out)

Pac's going to avoid that fight as long as he can. Mosley's making noise about getting the winner of Pacquiao's Hatton fight and Mayweather has a tax debt (according to Iole at Yahoo)so Marquez might be looking at a year before he ever gets back in the ring with Manny.
