JON JONES Tests Positive for Steroids after UFC 214 STRIPPED OF TITLE

this dude is blowing somebody on the ufc panel because he keeps getting a slap on the wrist everytime he do something.they gave werdum 2 yrs for popping with the same steroid jon got popped with.they gave him 2 yrs a few days ago and it was his first time.this junkie got popped 3 times and a slap on the wrist everytime.smh.one a cheater is always a cheater in my eyes.

Might be foolish but i still believe that he never intentionally cheated. Guy failed the test he knew was coming. He also passed a lie detector test.

Gonna be interesting to see if Cormier gets one last fight in with Jones. Especially now with Cormier holding both the HW & LHW belts. Wants to get that fight in with Brock Lesnar in the first 1/4 of 2019. Plans to return by age 40 (March 20th of next year) ... does he stay around for a bit longer for Jones & an additional $ fight, or is it not worth risking defeat/injury and one of the belts?
I wanted Dan to beat JJ. After the way he acted when JJ beat him both times, I just don't like Dan. Then he beat Stipe. :hmm:

I hope Brock beats the shit out of Dan. Don't know if it's likely, but I can hope.

I'll take JJ beating dan and having him in tears again. I'll take brock beats dan, jj beats brock, and JJ vs stipe. Just as long as Dan ain't in the showpiece.

That finishing sequence in the 2nd Jones-Cormier fight was intense. The headkick, trip, and follow-up ground & pound.

I was really surprised at Cormier finishing Miocic in the first round. I was really expecting both fighters to have their moments ... both to score a good amount of damage over the course of 3 or more (of the 5 rounds).

Lesnar doesn't take damage from striking too well. Gonna be interesting to see how much Cormier lands on him ... and in a perfect world we'd get to see them BOTH test their wrestling pedigrees (even later in their careers - late-30s and early-40s). Cormier with Olympic level chops, and Lesnar with his collegiate background. That would be great to see them battling for control when grappling and on the mat.

Wish that Gustafsson was more active. It would be great to see a 2nd fight with him and Jones ... that first fight was fun in 2013.

UFC Fighter Jon Jones Gets 15-Month Suspension, But Could Return Late October

0919-jon-jones-happy-tmz-3.jpg

"Jon Jones has finally received his punishment for testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid last year -- a 15-month suspension -- but the good news is ... he could return to the Octagon in just a little over a month.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced Jones' suspension Wednesday, but it's retroactive to the date of the test on July 28, 2017 ... which means he may be eligible to fight again by October 28.

As we reported ... Jones swore on God and his kids that he didn't use steroids before his fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, but couldn't account for the banned substance in his system in his B test.

Due to the positive test, his knockout over Cormier was changed to a no-contest.

Jones was originally looking at a maximum of a 4-year ban, but the USADA changed its mind and only sought an 18-month suspension. However, an independent arbitrator ultimately reduced it to 15 months and said in his ruling ... "There was absolutely no intention to use prohibited substances on the part of the athlete."

Jones also got his license to fight revoked in California for the positive test, but he's also eligible for reinstatement now.

So ... rematch with Cormier coming soon??"

yea ufc losing hundreds of millions with jones not fighting... he is one of their main cash cows...

I think they are gonna set up a brock lesnar vs jones fight first...

I think if cormier was smart he would just avoid jones, defend the title a few more times and retire...a champ...

From most accounts it sounds like they are aiming for Cormier-Lesnar in the first or second quarter of 2019.

If I were Cormier I would probably avoid the trilogy fight with Jones. Jon seemingly has his number, and by granting him a 3rd fight you would potentially allow him to take a title off of you, get a major payday (that he wouldn't get off of Gustafsson, Texeira, Saint-Preux, etc) and also potentially another highlight-reel finish over you just prior to your own retirement (Cormier's). He's a serious competitor & took both Jones losses quite hard.

As for Conor McGregor ... another cash cow ... they are definitely looking forward to his return in early-October too. With some of their PPV cards only drawing 200 - 250k ... Conor is likely to generate 1 - 2 million PPV buys, and even with the PPV points/revenue split and big contract ... those numbers still add up. His PPV numbers are in the Top 5 of the company (Mendes, the Diaz fights, Alvarez) alongside UFC 100 (Lesnar, GSP, etc). Gonna be interesting to see how well received the press conference is received in NY tomorrow (McGregor-Nurmagomedov).

yea can you imagine if conner had to do time and jones was suspended for four years..

ufc got some big money investors behind it, no way they was gonna let that scenerio play out...

It's funny listening to the media & MMA podcasters discuss the WME-IMG acquisition in recent years after all the successes Zuffa & the Fertittas had years prior. All those years of success with Jones, GSP, Rousey, and McGregor ... little did they know Ronda would suffer 2 bad defeats & then depart ... Conor would fight Alvarez in Nov. 2016, then nearly 2 years later versus Khabib (next month). That said ... the boxing loss to Floyd generated BIG MONEY for everyone involved. Jones would have his legal issues in recent years ... GSP would take 4 years off from Nov. 2013 - 2017 ... etc. So many moving parts. They were probably counting on many 600k - 1.2 million PPV-bought cards ...

With all of the racism in the UFC, I can't bring myself to root for a white fighter over a brutha. Every brutha that ever held the strap 100% earned it. Lesnar is the biggest bitch ever in the UFC too. Big as fuck but shells up and quits when someone hits him back. Watch how quick the UFC gives Gustaphson a shot or fight with Jones too. They have been giving that dude so many chances its crazy.
