Joel Osteen is getting the treatment for not helping Harvey Survivors blocking niggas left & right

Yeah my documentary A Broken Faith got into Sundance few years ago but I was too broke at the time to get it converted to the format they use to screen at the festival so I had to withdraw. But Blue City got into A few festivals last year and this year. The biggest was Chelsea Film Festival.

Most def bro. I'm always updating the BGOL Fam on every move I make.

If he was smart he would have used his resources to set up an adequate shelter pre storm. Doing that would have increased his visibility even more and also increase his membership therefore increasing his profits.
Devils like him usually don't have the foresight to think about shit like that.. too confused with being devils instead of helping humanity

Im almost positive he doesn't shop at Walmart.

Like I said if I see em at Walmart..I will bump into his bitch ass..brah

Nigga you work for Joel? Cause you riding hard on the wrong side of this.

1. Joel has pull on a global level. So not having access to resources is a bullshit cop out. MEGA church. He could have made some calls like everyone else in the region.

2. (To the bolded) Yeah well pimp the difference is that NRG stadium does not pose itself as a "shelter from the storm" in the figurative sense to hustle up dollars.

That the funny thing about being a church...you SUPPOSE to be about the peoples business and not your own, ESPECIALLY in a time of need.

So it's great that they are opening up NRG stadium but that doesn't change the fact that Lakewood should have been open.

Shelter from the storm and all.

3. Joel stamp the target on his head, stood in the middle of a field and dared cats to shoot. No sympathy for him there.

*two cents*
There were two shelters within 3 miles of the church that were not even close to full compacity. So no one was turned away or suffering

Yep he squandered a great opportunity for positive public relations. He would've increased his reputation and it would have improved his dollar flow in the future.
Improved his dollar flow? He is one of the most recognized pastors in the world. He does not need money, members or fame.

I don't go to church and probably never will again, But Joel Osteen and His father have done a lot to help the people of Houston including put people through college, provided housing, transportation, job services linking jobless civilians with employers, feeding the homeless, and donating cash to multiple institutions, in other words he has done more for the people of Houston than the people making terrible comments.....When you open yourself as a shelter you must have the right supplies and that takes ALOT of organizing, being a shelter with No organization is like the superdome during Hurrican Katrina all over again......Houston is the 4th largest city in America, you mean to tell me no one else has a mega church? Why was he singled out? People haven't even gave this man a dime or even thought about going to his church on a regular Sunday service but he is the con man? Things like this is why I don't have hope for humanity, people are petty yo! You don't live by the bibles rules but expect the spirit of your jesus to save you when a flood happens. You worried about Joel Osteen cash and prosperity, when the poor people of Houston should have been focusing on their cash so when shit like this come up you can be prepared leaving you to lash out like the lady with kids at the Cnn reporter at the shelter, all I can say is people gotta do better and stop blaming people you didn't even think about before you had a hard time!

hypocrite,
what part of bible rules is owning multiple mansions in a single city?
Seriously wwjd?
would jesus make excuses? equivocate and rationalize? hide or spin false equivalents like your post and Mr Olsteen on TV?
would jesus wait days to lend aid - would he lie about anything?

Joel wasn't singled out- other faith based organizations across denominations and faiths, small congregations and mega that weren't underwater -stepped up and opened their doors...
Joel did not - not until public pressure was overwhelming

would the poor members of Lakewood be better off if they invested their tithes instead giving it to Joel?

Yes they would have been better off if they invested instead of giving to any church hence the reason that they are poor...... All I'm saying is people making comments about this man not opening the doors of the church because they situation was fucked up, I wonder how many people who had the money to evacuate from Houston singing the same song? It's not Joel Osteen responsibility to save people, that man got his own family to think of FIRST! My family live in Magnolia Tx right by a Lake and it flooded their house, do you think they spoke Ill of Joel Osteen? Or any church? Nope. Do you know why? Because they had a contingency plan for this very thing happening.......I really feel sorry for people sometimes because they really are so brainwashed by others to make them think that they will be saved by the church or the gov't if things go haywire in these streets.....you been spoiled living in the US....if marshal law break out and you gotta Fed your family what you gon do? Ask where is the nearest church is?, don't get me wrong it would be nice in a perfect world but let's not kid our selves, you in this bitch by yourself and the sooner you realize it the better!

Tyler Perry Donates $250,000 To Beyoncé’s Pastor For Hurricane Harvey Relief

Tyler Perry is making sure his donation gets into the right hands.

The “Madea” creator, 47, announced Thursday on his Facebook page that he is donating $1 million to relief efforts in Texas following the destruction left by Hurricane Harvey — $250,000 of which is going to Joel Osteen‘s Lakewood Church.

“I know that there’s been some controversy about Joel Osteen and him not opening the doors of the church,” Perry said. “Joel and Victoria are amazing people — there’s no way that they would lock people out of the church or not let people seek shelter.”

“There were some safety concerns, and I spoke to them on the phone, and it all made perfect sense to me,” Perry continued. “So, before you just run and judge someone real quick, you need to know the whole circumstances.”

On Saturday, Osteen received heavy criticism on social media when he tweeted prayers for those affected by the storm — with many questioning why Lakewood Church was not being offered as a sanctuary.

By Tuesday, Osteen had announced on Twitter that Lakewood’s doors were opening, and hundreds of volunteers gathered to help collect and organize donation items and supplies.

During an appearance on Today, the celebrity televangelist explained why Lakewood Church (which can hold more than 16,000 people) didn’t initially welcome evacuees from the hurricane — a decision that brought a wave of criticism against Osteen.

"The church has always been open."

“[The city] didn’t need us as shelter then,” Osteen said. “We coordinate with them all the time. If we needed to be a shelter, we certainly would’ve been a shelter right when they first asked.”

On top of donating to Osteen’s church to make sure they “can get all the supplies that people need,” Perry is also donating $250,000 to Beyoncé’s pastor, Rudy Rasmus, who the Lemonade singer is working with to aid in relief efforts, according to The Houston Chronicle.

Perry said he is still considering other organizations to donate to, telling viewers, “Make sure you are giving to people that are getting the monies directly to the people that need it.”

“If you want to give, I will challenge you to find someone who has boots on the ground and who can really be effective,” he added.
