Former Jets running back Joe McKnight was killed Thursday.
(KEVIN HAGEN FOR THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS)
was released from custodyearly Friday without being charged.

Ronald Gasser, 54, shot McKnight in a fit of road rage outside New Orleans Thursday afternoon, police say. The investigation is ongoing.

A witness said that Gasser, who is white, shot McKnight more than once and at one point stood over him and said “I told you don’t f--k with me” before shooting him again. McKnight was not armed, police say. Gasser remained at the scene after the shooting and surrendured his gun to police.

Gasser’s family said that they couldn’t believe that the telecommunications expert was capable of such an act.

Joe McKnight had big heart and big dreams while with Jets

“He’s the best guy, the most generous guy,” Gasser’s sister, Sharon Weileman, told NOLA.com. “I have no idea what happened. I can’t even talk right now.”

“I’m speechless at the moment,” Gasser’s daughter, Candice Gasser-Bua, told NOLA.com. “I’m still trying to wrap my head around what happened.”

Gasser, residents told NOLA.com, moved into his father’s house in Gretna, La., about 15 years ao. He continued to live in the one-story brick house following his father’s death last year. Locals, who declined to be identified, said that Gasser lived alone in the home.

“He seemed to be a loner,” one resident told NOLA.com. “I never saw anyone else coming or going out of there.”

something must not be right about this statement..

if shooting a neutralized target on the ground isn't murder, then there's clearly no such thing as murder as it pertains to white people killing black people.

he clearly used the "big scary black man tried to kill me" defense and it worked

then people got the nerve to ask why Kaepernick doesn't stand for the pledge of allegience

It's only the beginning

These cacs gonna kill black folk and walk.. Tool up and if you got to put a cac down so be it... It's either you or them.. I say it's them that's going 6ft deep

And that's what I've been saying on the board for awhile now - white civilians want a piece of the pie now- they see police getting away with it so they r going to try their hand to see if they can get away with it- we all know the pattern - white man kills black man and claims self defense - the white attorney, a white da and an all white jury will make sure he gets a slap on the wrist. I wonder if the MSM is even talking abt the killers background like they do the black victims? At this point strapping up and getting a concealed carry permit is essential if your state allows it.

BGOL yall slippin. CAC male sympathizers in 5, 4, 3....
Maybe we don't know the whole story yet, if he is guilty I hope he goes to prison for life, but if he is not it could be a twist to the story. Maybe the white guy felt his life was in danger and that Joe was trying to run him off the road and cause him to get hurt. Who knows, hopefully the truth comes out though.

How in the hell does this happen? Did this dude hired an attorney or just get released based on his own story of the events?
