I have answered this three times in this thread. Here is the fourth and last

Forming a black socialist party that serves our needs is a better option then voting democrat every time and hoping for things to benefit us after it trickles down from the other minorities. Other groups get bills and laws that are directly for them. Why dont we? Im not expecting an answer to that because you don't know nor will your brain allow you to attempt to wonder. As far as losing every time...Do you think we are winning now? seriously the democrats winning doesn't equate to us winning. When has it ever? Are you looking at things from a micro or macro level? Did we win under Obama?

As far as socialism is concerned I think its a much better policy overall than capitalism which exploits the poor. I think thats quite simple for you to grasp. The redistribution of wealth would be a tremendous benefit to black people. In our current system wealth is redistributed up to the wealthy and not to the people who really need it. I know I know you think this stimulus and tax credit is wealth distribution. It's not...Its akin to giving ya child that toy he wanted so he can shut up and leave you alone. True wealth distribution doesn't come in one time measures. Do you see how many bailouts the airline industry has received since covid? That sir is socialism or rather kelptocracy...Look it up.

I know you wont understand and thats fine.

This answer just shows another lack of sophistication when it comes to politics.

A black Socialist Party would be a fraction of the 13% that black people make up within the country. So for black Socialist Party to actually work they would have to actually create create a coalition with another group. The most natural group for that to work would be a white Socialist Party. However as we've seen white socialist parties are all about its class not race and they specifically are trying to center parties around white people. There has been constant talk from black members of the DSA that they were marginalized and pushed to the side and any concerns they had that were concerns of black people were ignored.

So now what you have is a black Socialist Party that can't really work with another group like a white Socialist Party because then they have to make concessions to a group of people who believe in class over race. So you don't have enough people to actually win any elections but you might have just enough to siphon enough votes away so that you don't win anything.

You won't be able to form any coalition's with Hispanic groups because to Hispanics socialism isn't something they actually want or like, in the Hispanic Community socialism was what they saw one step before they were in a dictatorship. The only people who see socialism as this great thing are white guys who base it on what they think they see in Scandinavian countries. What they don't actually factor in is that in those same countries the non-white people don't get to enjoy that's socialism they live in ghettos and deal with racism constantly.

Wow. Those are a lot of crumbs. Lol
In the grand scheme of things, yes. This will definitely help some people. Some will pay bills, some will buy tvs. But, I stand by my point that these funds will be exhausted quickly. There will be no follow up package. This is it. The underlying causes will still exist without any real solutions in sight.

But, to be fair.
  • $1400 checks
  • $300 unemployment bonus extension
  • Eviction moratorium extension
  • Farmer debt relief
Though not permanent solutions, these are decent temporary offerings.

First couple of months in with Biden.. I think people are moving on to other things and not being so locked into politics all day in this new post-Trump world.. now it's been overrun with a different group of people now... you can move it whenever you think it should be moved.

Agreed.
And I again I thank you for a great thread that documented historic moments in American history, and allowed poignant debate. From Monday this thread will continue as a sticky in the Politics forum. Making way for new thread moments here.

No one said it was reparations.. no one said it solves all of America's long standing issues... this is pandemic relief that pertains to this very specific issue..

WHY DO YOU GUYS INSIST ON PISSING ALL OVER IT?

We been calling out and cussing out Manchin. Where you been?

Now explain to me what the bill would have looked like if Trump won.
Trump's bill gave money to people with kids no matter the income level. Also game more unemployment bread than this 300 dollar shit

Trump's bill wouldn't have happened because McConnell wouldn't have signed off on it. If that were the case trump would have had 2k back last summer.
