Joe’s Crab Shack apologizes for using photo of lynching as table decor

what makes me mad about this pic is the brother in the background...so many wrongs with that, so many...
That was done intentionally for denial. Sorta like the coons you see behind Trump during his klan rallies.

How did Cracker Barrel get it's name?

IIRC, a cracker barrel used to be where old cacs congregated and talked about the "good old days". There was literally a barrel of crushed crackers, and they'd grab a handful to snack on while they talked shit. Keep in mind, I was a very young lad when I first learned of this, so I could be slightly off.

The art of war by Sun Tzu said something like troll your enemies during time of peace. This is what the Cacs are doing.

I don’t eat at Joe’s, so that part won’t change. It is showing an entire lack of sensitivity to include a photo of an actual hanging in any design, let alone at an eating establishment. That being said, to call the photo a lynching is at the least disingenuous and at most distorting the truth. This is a photo of a public hanging after two individuals were tried and convicted of murder. Lynching is defined as to "punish (a person) without legal process or authority, especially by hanging, for a perceived offense or as an act of bigotry." Is it likely that racism played a part? Of course it is. Was this by definition a lynching? Not at all.

Just for the sake of accuracy, what is depicted here is not a lynching. It was the hanging of a man who had murdered a guy (with a stone) over a $20 coin after a trial.

Race may have played a part in the trial but there’s no evidence that it did.

A lynching is a murder committed outside of judicial environment by people not associated with the law.

that’s not what this is. This is an execution.

It’s a stupid picture and it should be as offensive to the family of the man who was murdered as it was to those who see themselves in the victim. That part is undeniable and not up for debate, imho.

but it’s not a lynching.

NONE of this surprises me. In fact, I've come to expect it.

It's funny that they always can say sorry and then it's all good like it never happened and it never offended anyone.

So now they got some food and others to buy the food.

Glad I don't go there anyway

Food is terrible and overpriced

Much better places to get seafood around here
I took a female to the one hear in Stone Mountain. I spent $60 on an overcooked bucket of shrimp & crawfish with poor service & watered down drinks. I complained & they gave me a gift card for $60. It still ain't worth it.

but but but...I thought they don't see color.

How come WE gotta get over and get a sense of humor but if you make a gay joke or Jewish joke you will lose your job?

Italians were so offended by the Sopranos misrepresenting Italians that they protested with a strongly worded letter and not a damn one cancelled their HBO subscription. And had NO problem with Tony and friends saying n*gger every week.

and would they tell a Jewish person that the ovens and gas chambers are REALLY the proper definition of the holocaust?

Since black people dont know what a lynching is?

And if the same cacs who wrote this trash get caught?

They will immediately cop pleas on how they aren't racist they didn't mean it it was just the internet and they have Black friends and they weren't in the right frame of mind.

Funny How Shit Like Images Of the Holocaust Are Never "Accidently" Used In This Manner :hmm:

Dark, you hit it right on the head. These muthafucahs talk all that equality shit but you see it is impossible for them to think of us as other than inferior. If they are not working toward dismantling the racist power structure, they are practicing racism.

Oh and fuck Joe's Crab Shack. The last time I went there on a Friday just for a casual dinner with the wife, I ended up spending $76 not including tip. I shit you not, we ordered two entree sand two drinks. I was like fuck, I could spent a couple more bucks and ate at Fogo's or nice steakhouse for what spent here.

We don't and we should stop and we should cuss out any NIGGA saying we should.
PERIOD.
I ain't over shit. My mother and father couldn't ride on the front of the bus or go to certain restaurants or drink from certain water fountains or even play with white kids.
They got bit by dogs, locked up several times, water hosed and fought so that I wouldn't have to go through that.

So I ain't forgiving or forgetting shit.

I dont know why anyone is surprised, many sick cacs especially down south, still got body parts of

us kept as souvenirs and handed down to the next generation, instead of burying that shit...

especially the penis, fingers and toes...

we are not dealing with sane people folks...

some are even so brave as to keep it right on their mantles..

there is a reason why they are going extinct.. anyone that parasitic

and disturbed shouldnt be existing in the first place...

This!

I went there one time back in September .and was not impress. Good Riddance !!! I hope the business folds !!!

Those pics are shellacked onto the tables. Whoever they get their furniture from is about to get sued.

We must do for self!

If we want respect we must provide services for each other or else stay offended by institutions we did not build, but gladly give our trillion + to for the BS! Insanity, no other way to describe it:smh:.
