But after he brief re-career she flamed out yet again. Can anybody name any hit she had after "Looking for a new love" and "Some kind of lover", both of which were on her first solo album in 1987? Her first solo joint was her first significant thing since Shalamar and her only hit between then and now.

Cut it out. She had a hugely successful career, with 5 or 6 Top Ten hits and a couple million albums sold and Grammys won. Clearly her peak was in the 'late '80s, but she really didn't have to do much else after her massive success. Hewett never did anything approaching her level. NO hits as a solo artist and only one Top Ten with Shalamar. Period.

Everyone still knows who Jody is. She's been putting out #1 DANCE singles all the way through the '00s. No one knows who Hewett is, other than being Nia Peeples' ex.
