Jim Brown better than Jerry Rice

jim brown admitted he sucked at blocking and yall cats say greatest of all time lol

Jim Brown wasn't a fullback but he ran like one. He never ran away from a hit, he tried to run through them. Rice was hard to catch once he got the ball. Two different positions in football played by the best. Can't compare the two.

you could say the same thing about brown playing decades later with bigger linemen and linebackers. its hard to compare different eras.

true. but with that said, only somebody with no well rounded understanding of football or its history would put rice over brown :smh:

plus u KNOW they haven't seen sheit of brown's runs other than 30 second clips online

My thing is... why give points to someone for something they "could" have done as opposed to someone who actually did it?

In not a matter of "could" he do it, he would of done it if he did not retire. That is how great he was and he would of dominated in any era. I never seen him play because he was before my time but what I always hear from NFL greats and people who seen him play, they say he was a beast. Jim Brown during that era was like a freakish athlete like LeBron James is today and he completely dominated his era.

b4 i read any comments im going to start off like this

Im only 30 yrs old so didnt start watching football until the Giants bust the 49ers ass n went to the super bowl and won when Buffalo Scott Norwood missed that fg still remember those was my 1st 2 football games i watched when I was about 10

I never had the pleasure of watching Jim Brown but everybody who did says he was the best EVER even in his limited career but Im going to go with Rice

If Jim Brown didn't retire at age 29 he would still own pro football rushing records....just like Wilt still owns pro basketball scoring records....and Brown only played 12 games per season for most of his career. If he'd played 16 games like they do today, he's probably have 20,000 rushing yards and 200 rushing TDs.

he would also be DEAD right now. Because in those days, they did NOT play. There were no pansy assed rules prohibiting people from hitting you in 50% of your body like there is now. There was no pussy "plain of the goal line" rule or "pilon" rule. You either got INTO the endzone or you didn't. You played 12 knock down, drag out games then you played for the championship

Jerry Rice just because he was part of the 49ers golden area and came back and brought the same level of intensity for the Raiders.
