Shiquan Bellamy is accused in the brutal slaying of a young Jersey City couple on the way home from their engagement party early Sunday.Shiquan Bellamy is in custody, officials said, but he didn't appear in court today. His bail was set at $2 million cash only.
Shiquan Bellamy has been in custody since Tuesday, officials said, when he was picked up on a parole violation. He had been in prison on drug charges from March 6 to Oct. 19, 2009, according to the state Department of Corrections.
The three are accused of robbing, then shooting and killing 25-year-old Nia Haqq and 27-year-old Michael Muchioki around 3 a.m. Sunday outside their Randolph Avenue home.
Robbery, officials believe, was the motive, although officials have not said who they believe fired the shots.
News of the arrests came as Muchioki's funeral was going on at Monumental Baptist Church in Jersey City.
Hudson County First Assistant Prosecutor Guy Gregory said the investigation is ongoing.
Haqq's funeral was yesterday. The two will be buried together at Rosedale and Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.
Lawrence's brother, Ronald "Diddy" Lawrence, was arrested in February and charged with killing Mileak Richardson, Lester Thompson on Feb. 2 on Woodlawn Avenue.
In a news release, Prosecutor Edward DeFazio thanked Chief Thomas Comey and the members of the Jersey City Police Department, Col. Rick Fuentes and the members of the New Jersey State Police, U.S. Marshal James T. Plousis and the Marshals’ Service, and acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino for their help in "bringing this investigation to a quick resolution."
"This was a heinous crime," Deputy Jersey City Police Chief Peter Nalbach said this afternoon, noting the tragedy Haqq's and Muchioki's lives being cut short. "They were two productive people who were taken off the face of the earth, and the hopes of their families and friends were
destroyed."
Nalbach said Jersey City police have been working around the clock on the case and he also credited the work of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, the U.S. Marshals and the New Jersey State Police.

Got these fucking scumbags. R.I.P. to the lost couple... They need to murder these three animals...
Social Darwinism is a evil cloud in which predatory scum show no remorse for their victims. Savage kneegrows like this are worse then the KKK. I call their ilk Negro-Nazis. No matter what the court system does, it will be far more humane then what they showed that couple. What ever justice the courts allow the victim's family should be pursued to the fullest extent.
u gotta stay strapped today

Look at those dusty looking ****** scum. These are the people that you want decent black people reaching out to? Leave these low lives in the hood and let them deal w/ each other.
This is why I'm coming to the conclusion that it's too late to help these kids. No Father around. Raised by Brain-Dead Mothers who complain about Black Men not doing anything. Yet when decent, responsible Brothers try to help these crack-babies, their Mothers bitch about how these same Brothers think they're too good for these said women and their kids.
Trust me.
I went through it in the late 80s.
that predation you speak of, has been shown through the actions of man long before anyone coined the term "social darwinism". this has nothing to do with that
Grew up in Red Bank, Eatontown, Tinton Falls, LB...
Condolences to the O.P.
I could have told you that a long time ago, these lil niggas are too far gone for help. Only ones I'm concerned about are the ones in my immediate family....
I keep tellin cats all these lil niggas understand is gun talk thats it and if thats the case I have no problem obliging with a 9mm to their face, only then they will shape the fuck up.
I use to tell these lil so called tough guys that shit, don't start crying and apologizing with somebody more thorough than you have you on your knees with a shotgun to your head and you looking the the barrel. Take your consequence like a man since the gun is what you live by....
This morning I get word that two of my close friends were murdered last night in JC right outside their home. Folks who are doing what they're supposed to do, going above and beyond - college graduates, owning property, doing community service, business owner - killed in the street like dogs. Breaks my heart
