In its first week, Jennifer Lopez’s new album, This Is Me … Now, debuted on the Billboard 200 at the No. 38 spot before dropping off the chart altogether. “J. Lo’s devastated the album, her first in nearly a decade, did so poorly. She’s never experienced this kind of failure. It’s humiliating,” a source exclusively tells In Touch. “She poured her heart and soul into this project. It was a huge undertaking.”

Now, the singer, 54 — who spent $20 million of her own money financing the album and its accompanying documentary and musical film — has had to cancel several shows on her upcoming summer tour due to poor ticket sales, says the source. “She can’t perform to a stadium with tons of empty seats?”

The musical landscape has changed since her last album over a decade ago (even longer). So at 50 plus yrs old, her musical content won't reflect the musical taste of her demographic. Every artist who is over 50, is gonna suffer or succumb to that eventuality. As an artist your content is gonna reflect your age group or where you are in life sooner or later. That is a direct relatability problem with the intended demographic who are probably still in their 20's and 30's. That gap is hard to bridge the older she gets

If your not a pure singer that is classically trained (which J-Lo isn't,), being a dancer that sings songs has a shelf life in that regard.

If she did a greatest hit tour like Madonna recently, she would have had way more success in ticket sales.

But it was a gross miscalculation on her part on epic proportions.

I didn't watch any of the promo interviews, but my wife watched that dreadful ass musical that accompanied the album. The clips I heard sounded terrible and my wife thought the movie was awful. 3 of her favorite movies include; Maid in Manhattan, Selena and Enough btw.... haha
