Jeezy Speaks On Beef With Rick Ross With Angie Martinez

Naw I disagree. That's like saying the Sugar Hill Gang are the goat because they had the first nationwide hip hop hit. TIP put "Trap" on before any of these niggas. He wasn't the first to say the word(Big Boi was the first nigga I heard talk about the trap) but he was the first one to make that music popular. If it wasn't for Trap Muzik there would be no Young Jeezy. Let's call it what it is. Jeezy may have made it more popular but TIP was the first one to put the country on to Trap Muzik. And the only reason TIP didn't sell more than gold was because he didn't release no pussy ass commercial singles.

Bad analogy. People aren't saying TM 101 was the best cause it was first because it wasn't. It's the best because it is. Trap Muzik had the words in the title but it wasn't a "trap" album. Mainly because Tip is far more diverse than Jeezy. Jeezy made an album and the closest thing to a love song was "Tear that Pussy up"..That whole album was a dopeboy album. No commercial tracks at all. Jeezy singles were Trap or Die, and then what, Go Crazy, and Trap Star....Dude had a double platinum album with 4 singles about selling dope. And every verse. No commercial single?.... What was let's get away?:lol: Come on man. Tip is a FAR better rapper/lyricist whatever but honestly man he's never made a trap album..

I'll put it like this if you REALLY wanna judge. You go to ANY Urban/Hood Club or event and you put on Rick Ross most popular song, whether you think it's "Hustlin, BMF, MC Hammer." whatever... And I GUARANTEE it wont get a better reaction than when cats hear these words right here...

"Im the realest nigga in it you already know............."I guarantee you the crowd goes :dance::dance::dance:

nigga jeezy was all on ross dick when he came out.

ohhh man lemme hop on the husltin remix wit jay-z. nigga u wasn't suppose to be on it.

ooooh man lemme get ross to be in my video about me goin on vacation.

oooo man lemme get on luxary tax wit wayne and trick.

nigga u wasn't suppose to be on none of dem shits.

ross don't care about you fuckboy.

still a fuckboy.

I almost forgot about "Wasted" so you're right about that one but "Lemonade" wasn't even as big as you're makin' it seem & I don't even know if I heard "Spotlight" to say anything about that & this is comin' from a Gucci fan (albeit I don't listen to him as heavy as I did years back). Hell, "Lemonade" was gettin' burn down here but not like that.

Man I still hear "Lemonade" in the club to this day. I'm not gonna act like its no timeless cut but that shit got burn on urban radio and in clubs. Shit BET and MTV Jams use to play the shit out of it too. And "Spotlight" was that wack ass song he had with Usher. It was about as big as Wasted was. I can only speak for the South but everytime he has had a song out here its been a hit. That's why I use to look at these niggas like "WTF" about a couple of years ago when Gucci buzz started to get big. See what niggas don't remember is that when Gucci and Jeezy was beefing everyone picked sides and EVERYONE rode with Jeezy. People don't remember that shit though. But with how fickle niggas are Gucci came back from all of that shit and went nearly gold on that Radric Davis album and took over the mixtape game.

Gucci got hits, Gucci got a movement, Gucci got artists under him that are relevant and people listen to, Gucci gets release dates for his albums. Gucci drops mixtapes regularly that he is able to tour off of. He got out on July 5th and been hitting clubs all over the south and midwest ever since off the strentgh of his Writings On The Walll pt.2 mixtape. As far as those two, its no comparison in 2011. Jeezy fell off and is tryna get back out there. Gucci gets locked up every summer but his shit is still more organized and relevant. Jeezy is still living off what he did on his 1st album. Jeezy has no artists under him that I nor anyone else is checking for. Jeezy makes the same generic dopeboy music over and over with knockoff Shawty Red/Lex Luger beats. His shit just dont got that personality it once did.

Damn. I'm glad i'm not the only nigga thinking and seeing this shit. This nigga Gucci albums ALWAYS come out on time. Shit he even gets Atlantic to drop his MIXTAPES.

"Im the realest nigga in it you already know............."I guarantee you the crowd goes :dance::dance::dance:

nigga u crazy as hell.

play that BMF last year against that u would lose.

same as MC hammer.

NOW if u play this song right here....

And thats real talk

I was at DGs earlier this year and they dropped that old Jeezy and there was a CLUB ENDING FIGHT before the song was even done

Thats the type of impact that shit had on the streets

Far as currently relevance Ross and Gucci clearly are shitting on Jeezy. For some reason Jeezy thinks that because he has THE Trap album that he can just drop once every 8 months and get love. EVERYBODY that's on top right now is dropping CONSTANTLY...Wayne, Gucci, Ross, the only cat thats on top that doesn't drop consistently is Drake.

And another thing is they have people under them that have a name as well, that keeps them relevant. Those dudes are working like starving artist, while Jeezy acts like he's Dr. Dre..

thats the point i was trying to make. if you go ask around the world everybody will say jeezy started that shit. thats like nelly saying he started the word derrty but chingy said that niggaz were saying that shit long before nelly in st louis. but if u ask somebody errbody would say nelly started it.

twist ya fingers up bang mafucka bang.

TI VERSE MURDED JEEZY ON HIS OWN SHIT THO.

Shaddy are you saying that the Intro gets more play than Get your mind right? LOL...Seriously BMF still can't fuck with Get your mind right in terms of reaction. Seriously ask ANY of these dudes from the South or anywhere else. I'm in NYC and the shit goes crzy off that.

Hell, Guuci's buzz is comparable to Jeezy's right now too b/c his is almost non-existent & da only artist that he has that's doin' somethin' is Flocka b/c it damn sho' ain't Frenchie or Woo & Slim Dunkin is Flocka's artist but he ain't really doin' shit right now either. And as far as Jeezy artists, I don't really care who's checkin' for 'em or not but I fucks w/Boo Rossini & Slick Pulla. I can't say Screwww b/c he's in da Feds now & he ain't puttin' out shit else.

The first dude(s) I credit with "ATL trap rap" are Ghetto Mafia and Cool Breeze of the Dungeon Family. Those the first rappers I heard chicken talking on record and mentioning the trap. TI & Jeezy took it mainstream this past decade, but GM and Breeze was doing it in the early and mid 90s.

nigga the intro made jeezy as far as im concerned.

coz that weak shit he said in dem boyz pissed me off.

still to this day i say jody breeze better.

So 101 > trap muzik?

?????
Trap Muzik >>>>>> Jeezy's career past, present, future

And yea, 101 was classic shit. But not because it was a stellar album. It was classic because it was sort of a landmark album and sort of timestamped and popularized a certain type of movement (straight dopeboy rap). But cats acting as if its THAT much superior than any Ross effort are romanticizing that shit too much. Lyrically it was mediocre at best. Homie was just talking that shit over heat and he was believable.

In terms of being a "rapper" and putting out quality music, he cant see Ross post 101.

Far as currently relevance Ross and Gucci clearly are shitting on Jeezy. For some reason Jeezy thinks that because he has THE Trap album that he can just drop once every 8 months and get love. thats the only thing i would say ross and gucci did better besides dropping constantly. they made stars while jeezy was busy beefing with his own click:smh:

waka hotter than gucci now

The Recession rates higher on my list as well. It has more substance/ feeling. A cat driving to work, at an Arbys, in a hatch back can thump that. As well as TM101. But TM101 is a colder release.

Ross is very talented but my main qualm is that he has little substance. My brain says "wow, look at the decorations," but filters out a majority of his tales because they lead to nowhere.

And he does what he does this to death. Just throws shit out there like smoke rings in each stanza. It looks cool but then, quickly evaporates. But he's capable of doing better IMO.

And vocal performance wise, there's no contest: Jeezy. And I'm from that Scarface era so I put a heavier emphasis on vocal performance as opposed to lyrical complexity. Though Face has both.

Tryin' to tell them Shady. These niggas must've forgot.....

Yea Let's Get AWay was more poppy but that shit dropped nearly a year after Trap Muzik dropped. Trap Muzik already had hit its peak by then. I don't know how much i'd consider it a commercial single though. Just because chics were singing the hook doesn't make it commercial. What I consider commercial is "I'm a T-R-A-P-S-T-A-R" or grabbing Akon for a hook. Having those catchy ass hooks is what I consider commercial. TIP didn't run to a formula that was popular. And Thug Motivation 101 was nothing but a commercial album. Just because he talked about white doesn't make it not a commercial album. His hook game was so catchy even if you didn't like Jeezy you had that shit stuck into your head after one listen. That's why niggas REALLY fucked with Jeezy in the club like that. He made club music.

And you wildin'. How is Thug Motivation 101 a trap album but Trap Muzik isn't? TIP had the same drug references that Jeezy did except he spent more time writing his lyrics than Jeezy did. The whole album is about hustling or the trap.

I like Boo from his concentration camp days, but Pulla wack as fuck to me. Never liked that cat. He strikes me as Jeezy's weed carrier that he put on as a rapper. Yeah it aint 08-09 as far as Gucci's buzz goes, but c'mon man, in 2011 he's still more relevant than Jeezy (and makes better music).

 forgot about that :smh: thats the album from hustling right? uunngghh:lol:

That was actually his best selling album, but that was only because Hustlin' was a big ass single. That's why album sales shouldn't even be a discussion in this thread because Port of Miami wasn't even his best album. Trilla and POM were his two top selling albums, and in my opinion, were his two worst albums. They only sold because of Hustlin and The Boss.

Exactly I can't even argue anymore cause it's not close/fair.

I wouldn't put Ross in that discussion yet because he hasn't made anybody hot yet. Triple C's were ass, Wale already had a name for himself and I have to see what Meek Mill does after "Tupac Back"

Worst mistake Freddie Gibbs every made in his career was signing to Jeezy. Stupid move. He's never gonna drop.

nigga Gucci had the game on lock back in 08-09 right before he got locked up.

he had 17 guest appearances even wayne needed him on that young money album and drake and trey songz and mario. but he got locked up.

nobody was checkin for young cheezy.

nigga are you serious? during 08 Jeezy was on Kanye album, 09 he was on Jigga's album and the following year he was on Drake's album. Thats the three biggest artist in the game.

Gucci will NEVER make a song with kanye, jigga or be featured on a drake album.
