Time really does fly by. Can't believe it's about to be a year since the news of the passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter & the other passengers on that fateful helicopter flight. It still feels sombering & surreal. Tomorrow is gonna filled with a lot of emotions

Was sitting on my couch talking to the wife when someone in one of my group chats sent a message about 12:30ish that said “Kobe’s died”. And my immediate reaction was “bullshit!”; my wife was pissed because I just zoned out of our convo until I told her what had happened. Verified by turning on the TV and logging on here. Fuck 1/26/20.

What’s wild, and sad, as that almost any other year in my life to date, absolutely NOTHING would top Kobe dying.

And I have been in disbelief since that day. I still do not truly believe it. Like I think I’ll wake up and he’ll be alive, giving his basketball takes and his takes on the social climate. I was really enjoying his evolution as a human being.

Man idk how long I sat in shock when I read that news, as a lakers fan this man was like superman to me when I was younger. The amount of joy watching him play, win those chips and then watching him after his career was just amazing. the way he seemed to be with his daughters and supported women's basketball with his daughters in mind was admirable as fuck, respect and love for kobe forever. Crazy that he's gone, always thought we'd all get to see him continue to do great things in to his old age. Sad it wasn't meant to be Rip mamba.

I was at the gym in the steam room..I was listening to a Game track..you know the one with Raekwon..I remember game said "I be at the game yelling Kobe..you know someone that scored 81..show me" I left the gym went to McDonald's..gotta phone call.."you heard about Kobe..naw..what happened?..they saying he died in a crash" I remember looking it up on my phone..but websites be bs'n..I remember the Mexican cashier saw me with my head down and said.."you hear about Kobe"..I'm like I heard but I don't know if its true..I called my homie while rushing home..he hadn't heard nothing about it.."let me call you back"....he called back.."its true cuzz" I got home rushed in..the tv already on..breaking news..then I came on here..didn't know how to feel..things where happening too fast..fast forward..I remember drinking a whole lot of Hennessey that day..and I remember some fool showing me a Kobe helicopter cartoon that supposedly predicted this event..honestly..I'm still numb to it all...
