Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in 2000

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

Haynesworth is a better comparison than Brown as far as passion goes

But as far as measurables Clowney and Brown are so similar its crazy

:yes::yes::yes:

Drafting a lineman is usually the safest pick in these situation but Houston just cant do that in this draft

Naw and I don't blame them. I know offensive line IS EXTREMELY important but man most of these all pro and pro bowl linemen weren't even 1st round picks. I'm not taking that 1st overall. I need a guy that's going to come in and make my team better immediately. I'm not a fan of taking top 5 picks and using them for offensive linemen.

Chiefs did it and it made sense because they already had like 7 Pro Bowl caliber guys on their team.

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

You trade that fucking pick. And if you cant find a trade partner of your liking you draft the best OT on the board.

After he ran that 4.47 I would not draft him because where was that athletic ability on the field?

I had doubts but he may have truly taken the season off:smh:

I thought that was damn near confirmed? His stats was terrible. He missed out on games so he wouldn't injure himself or his stock for the draft.

Almost sad to say that I understand. He was on the same team and on the sidelines when Marcus Lattimore has his knee turned into a flexi-straw. That would scare anyone. ANd considering he was playing for free without the option of going pro for another year...

I can understand taking the year being cautious. The rules against O=linemen taking out defensive linemen's knees are nonexistent, and he luckily dodged some the first game of the season.

BTW, props to those who liked the article.

Why did Brown fail?

Shit, I don't even remember Brown!

What team did he play for?

And I KNOW that Jet fans are saying to themselves "Vernon Gholston, Vernon Gholston!"

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

I think Manziel is going to surprise a lot of people. I like that kids heart. Clowney will be a bust. He doesn't have the love or passion for the game.
described as Vernon Gholston, athletic freak but no passion = bust

 He played for the Cleveland Browns, drafted first pick in 2000

Why did you have to remind me about Courtney Brown? Mark Word was better. :smh:

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

Yep

The comparisons are scary

I think Brown failed cuz he didn't have that "dog" in him

I think Clowney has it but it's money driven

That can be good and bad

It could be good if he lets the desire for money drive him his entire career, bad if he only let's it drive him when it's time to get paid

If he's money driven. then he Jerry should get him.
That's one thing Jerry will do is pay his players.

Even if they aren't worth it. :hmm:

I'd love to have Clowney in Dallas

It's worth the chance and we need a pass rusher

Shit I got a feeling Jerry is going to trade up anyway

Just being real

Y'all faggots still following me around like lost puppies searching for someone to pump you up and make you feel good about your miserable selves? Both of you useless turds haven't contributed shit to the board, while 2 of the top 3 most viewed threads in BGOL History were started by me.

Pick on someone your own size. Nzinga or somebody. I'm too big for you bums.

One of those was your ock

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

I've seen what happens when a player(Jevon Kearse) goes to a team that was stacked on the d-line and have a huge impact. With JJ on the other side, who's getting double teamed? If that unit can stay healthy(especially Brian Cushing) and fill some gaps in the secondary, they'll be lights out.

True, last d line that good was in carolinas superbowl team. Watt and clowney would create so many mismatches its not funny. Idgaf hopefully they take him meaning one less team to stop johnny football from being a cowboy.

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

oakland picks #5. i don't think he'll be there when they are up

i see st. louis in the drivers seat here at #2, especially if atlanta wants to move up to get him.

I doubt that the Rams draft him. They already have a pass rushing beast in Robert Quinn. The Rams need more firepower at receiver and I think Sammy Watkins is very much on their radar. I think Clowney either goes to the Texans or Jags

when i say drivers seat, it's about st. louis having the position to trade out of their #2 overall pick (obtained from washington) and still remain in the top 10. (st. louis also has their own pick at #13, the big fella wr from texas a/m could still be there for them at wr)...

houston hasn't talked about it (trading) at all. if houston takes a qb then the rams can trade with say, atlanta at #6 (atl wants clowney, and clowney wants to stay in the south), rams get another high pick (probably 2015 draft) for trading down, and still get watkins at #6 if they want him (cleveland and oakland could look wr, but oakland has too many needs to fill to go wr this high)

this scenario only works if the texans don't take clowney. no one else is really worth trading up for imo

Man, the texans ain't picking no Clowney. Remember they were in this situation in 06 with Mario Williams and Reggie Bush. Same shit. An light in the ass offensive player whose prone to get injured or an freak of nature on def. I think they learned there lesson picking DL in the first round. Either a trade going to happen on draft day or the pick up Bortles and fuck everybodys head up.

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

this dude is going to make or black the brothas career in Houston. If he picks him and he is a bust his career is done; if he passes up on him and takes another player that turns out to be the next jamarcus russel he is done.

so this is a class case of damned if you do damned if you dont.

Re: Jadaveon Clowney's Freakish Combo of Size & Speed Nearly Identical to #1 Pick in

Jadaveon Clowney's NFL career is an unwritten mystery, but it should behoove anyone who remembers the large man who ran faster than receivers and running backs in the 2000 pre-draft workouts to pump the breaks a little bit.
