Cinnabliss Rolls. Of all the things I make, people request this from me the MOST! I've made them for birthday presents, Christmas presents, you name it, people will use any excuse to get me to make my infamous CinnaBliss Rolls. 100% of the responses of people who have tried them has been, "these taste the expensive cinnamon rolls they sell at the mall!"
It does not surprise me people literally freak out over these cinnamon rolls. The sent of cinnamon has been internationally known as an aphrodisiac for years, particularly for men. Maybe because the sent of cinnamon is similar to the pheromones our body naturally creates. Or maybe men love the sent of cinnamon because it reminds them of something fresh and tasty out of the oven. Regardless of the reason your sweetie will go ga-ga over this recipe.
As much as people like to eat them it take alot of time and effort to create them. I usually make my dough from scratch which takes several hours. Its definitely worth the trouble but I found a short cut that is just as good. By using store bought dough from the refrigerated counter you can create these magnificent masterpieces with minimal effort. A little help from the store goes a long way and you will be able to take 100% of the credit. The key to my CinnaBliss Rolls is the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Once it melts with the butter it creates this sticky sweet sauce that is freaking amazing. You can make these as a special breakfast for your hubby, or for dessert. Trust me, these treats work anytime of the day and will not last long!
1 can refrigerated pre-rolled pizza dough
1 and 1/2 sticks butter
2 cups packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup cinnamon
Icing:
8oz softened cream cheese
1/2 stick of butter
1 and 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 350degrees.
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside (feel free to taste the mixture and add more or less sugar or cinnamon to fit your personal taste)
Carefully roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. It should be the size of a rectangle. Smear the dough with butter generously. Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar over the butter. Do not be stingy with the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the dough up vertically to create a long roll. Slice the rolled dough into 2 inch slices.
Arrange in a 9inch cake pan. Do not overstuff the pan. Its ok for them to touch but don't cram them all in there. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they are brown on top and done in the middle. Top with cream cheese icing and enjoy!
To make the icing:
Using a hand mixer, blend the cream cheese and butter together until well combined. slowly Add the powdered sugar in batches. Add the vanilla extract and salt then blend for another 5 minutes. Spread on warm rolls.
